Jilin Yitong Manchu Museum | A walking textbook, worth traversing mountains, rivers, and the human world

🎯Located in Yitong Manchu Autonomous County, Siping City, Jilin Province, the Yitong Manchu Museum, also known as the Yitong Manchu Museum, is a professional museum dedicated to showcasing the history, culture, and customs of the Manchu people. There aren't many real artifacts; it's mainly a cultural display. 🎯'Yitong' is a transliteration from the Manchu language, originating from the name of the Yitong River, meaning 'grand and surging river'. It was first promoted to Yitong Prefecture in the eighth year of Guangxu (1882), and then to Yitong Directly Governed Prefecture in the first year of Xuantong (1909). The prefecture was abolished and replaced by a county in 1913. On August 30, 1988, Yitong County was abolished and the Yitong Manchu Autonomous County was established. 🎈Special Highlights ☘️It is a social science museum specializing in ethnic folklore. The exhibits inside display the Manchu people's clothing, food, housing, and transportation, introducing the customs of the Manchu brethren such as fishing, hunting, farming, attire, diet, residence, marriage, festivals, and beliefs. ☘️Yitong is a Manchu autonomous county, where over 80% of the population are Manchu people. The museum houses the local customs and practices of the Manchu brethren. ☘️The museum is quite small, with only six rooms in total, and can be toured in about half an hour. The shamanic arrangements seen for the first time in everyday life are quite novel. The people here all worship the god of Mount Changbai, and many pipes, smoking guns, and tobacco pouches are on display, beautifully made.
