Jiangxi Guifeng Scenic Area

Guifeng Scenic Area, located southwest of Yiyang County in Shangrao City, Jiangxi Province, is a key component of the Longhushan-Guifeng UNESCO Global Geopark and the "China Danxia" World Natural Heritage site. It is also a National Scenic Area, a 5A-level National Tourist Attraction, and a National Forest Park. Formed during the late Cretaceous period approximately 135 million years ago, Guifeng features classic Danxia landform landscapes. The area showcases peak forests, clustered peaks, stone pillars, isolated peaks, residual rocks, and hills, as well as stone beams, stone walls, natural bridges, caves, broad valleys, and lake basins. Its most distinctive feature is the "turtle-shaped" rocks and mountains—every hill and stone resembles a turtle in various forms, such as the Three-Layer Turtle, Lovers' Turtle, and Welcoming Turtle. Main Attractions: - **Guifeng Reclining Buddha**: At 416 meters long and 68 meters tall at the shoulder, it is the world's largest natural mountain reclining Buddha discovered to date. - **Wanglang Stone (Gazing-at-Husband Rock)**: A towering, slanting rock midway up Guifeng resembles a young woman in a long skirt, seemingly waiting for her beloved. - **Heavenly Dog Watching Bones**: Near the entrance, a peculiar rock on Zhanqi Peak looks like a crouching dog staring intently at the opposite "Rib Peak." - **One-Line Sky**: Formed by the close proximity (less than 1 meter apart) of Guifeng Peak and Wouniu Peak, this 10-meter-long, narrow gorge towers dozens of meters high. - **Echo Valley**: Located southeast of Guifeng, shouts here produce a magical four-fold echo.
