It is a power spot that is said to bring good luck, fulfillment of wishes, academic success, and business prosperity in honor of Uesugi Kenshin. A military flag with the characters "Bi" and "Ryu" was hung on Maizuru Bridge on the approach to the shrine. It is also famous for its cherry blossoms and the fantastic Snow Lantern Festival. The "Uesugi Snow Lantern Festival" features over 300 snow lanterns and 1,000 candle-lit snow lanterns, creating a fantastic beauty.
