Check-in at Liujiaxia Reservoir

Liujiaxia Reservoir is located on the upper reaches of the Yellow River, about 1 kilometer southwest of Yongjing County in Linxia. The area features a mix of gorges and plains. The river flows through deep gorges with towering cliffs, creating a spectacular scene reminiscent of thousands of galloping horses. The most famous spot here is Liujiaxia. The Yellow River makes a sharp 90-degree turn at this point before flowing westward through the gorge. Visitors can take a boat upstream to tour Liujiaxia. The river water is clear, and the waves splash energetically. As you enter the gorge, you'll see towering peaks on both sides, with sheer cliffs creating a constantly changing landscape that rivals the scenery of Guilin and the Wu Gorge of the Yangtze River. After exiting the gorge, you'll be greeted by a highland lake with rippling waters, set against a backdrop of blue skies and white clouds, offering a unique blend of lake and mountain scenery. Liujiaxia Reservoir was completed in 1974. It is the seventh step in the development plan for the upper reaches of the Yellow River and serves multiple functions, including power generation, flood control, irrigation, aquaculture, navigation, and tourism. Located in a highland gorge, the reservoir is known as the 'Pearl of the Plateau' for its spectacular scenery. The Liujiaxia Reservoir is thus very famous and definitely worth a visit.
