In particular, this time's accommodation was 'Iyotomi (Yufuin Iyotomi)' Ryokan. ⸻ 🛤️ A quiet Yufuin entrance When you transfer to a train and a bus at Fukuoka Airport and get off at Yufuin Station, you will see a beautiful town scenery along the river. After walking for about 5-7 minutes, you will reach the entrance of Iyotomi through a quiet forest path, and your heart will already feel at ease . 🏠 Ryokan check-in & room tour The guest rooms are a combination of traditional Japanese structures, wooden floors, and tatami rooms, creating the 'beauty of slowness'. Although the space is not large, it feels neat and tidy. Among the various room types, the room I stayed in was a shared hot spring style without a shower, and there was a separate washbasin space at the end of the 2nd floor hallway . 🛁 Hot spring bath – Private & open harmony Iyotomi has a total of 5 hot springs! It consists of 4 indoor and 1 outdoor bath . In particular, each bath has a real-time QR reservation system so you can ‘bathe right away if there is an empty spot’, so you can enjoy it comfortably without worrying about waiting in line . Since the indoors are not very bright, bathing in the hot spring in the darkness of the evening was really emotional, and the outdoor bath in the morning sunlight was truly healing itself. 🍽️ Meal – The sincerity and class of kaiseki The evening kaiseki is composed using seasonal local ingredients, and each dish is made with sincerity, and the breakfast is clean & filling in a buffet style . There were many reviews saying, “Despite the cheap price, the meal was really satisfying,” and it was perfect for my taste. 🙋 Staff & Amenities • The staff was really friendly and attentive, which left a big impression! — They conveyed the atmosphere of “Thank you for coming.” . • Free parking, free Wi-Fi throughout the ryokan! . • However, the fact that there were no shower facilities in each room, the size of each room was different, and the dark hallways were disappointing. . 🌿 Day 2 – Ending the healing in slowness The next morning, I enjoyed the bath again in a quiet time, and had a cup of fragrant coffee wearing a yukata. The view of the garden surrounded by trees and greenery was so purifying in itself.
