A weekend getaway in Yuyao 🥂 Hotel recommendation I first heard of Yuyao when the Tree Frog Hotel opened there. Later, I learned about another heritage-style hotel under A9 Assets—the Yuyao Yangming Guantang Hotel. Those familiar with New Century Hotels might know that the Guantang brand represents their mid-to-high-end series, featuring properties deeply rooted in local culture. This is reflected in their architectural style, which often incorporates traditional designs. The Yuyao Yangming Guantang is no exception. Three fully restored ancient buildings—Gengdu Hall, Sixi Hall, and Chengqing Hall 🍁—stand as the centerpieces of the hotel. While the rest of the structures are newly built, they seamlessly blend with the Hui-style architecture, creating a harmonious and nostalgic atmosphere. 🍂🍂 But don’t think heritage means it’s not kid-friendly! 🤠 Our two-day itinerary kept us entirely within the hotel grounds, 🌴 yet we were constantly engaged in activities—all while the adults stayed relaxed. 🤠🤠 We arrived at the hotel 🚘 at noon and checked in. The staff kindly upgraded us to a loft room—spacious, clean, and incredibly comfortable. 👣👣 At check-in, the front desk gifted us two complimentary photo experience cards (including styling, outfits, and photography). 💋 Afterward, we spent two hours at the hotel’s playground. The hotel offers both indoor and outdoor play areas. We opted for the outdoor space to let the kids soak up some sun. 🌞🌳🌳🌳 Post-playground, we hopped on the rice field train 🚂 next door and tried some fruit-picking. 🌻 Around 6 PM, we dined at the hotel’s restaurant (you can request a shuttle if unfamiliar with the layout). Research had highlighted their farm-to-table veggies 🥒🥦, so we enjoyed a wholesome meal. 🥬🥕🥕🥬 Breakfast the next morning was served at the same restaurant 🍧—a buffet featuring many local intangible cultural heritage dishes. A thoughtful touch! 🧡🧡🧡 ❤️ At 10 AM, we attended a talk by Mr. Fu on the stories behind the ancient architecture. Later, we tried our hands at crafting lacquered fans and Liangnong rice cakes—both of which we took home as souvenirs. 🎋🎋 For lunch, we visited the hotel’s Yaowei Noodle House 🍜, drawn by their signature yellow croaker noodles. Service was slow, but the staff explained each bowl was made-to-order by the chef. 🍟 Okay, the delicious taste made up for the wait! 🍏🍏🍏
