G219 National Avenue Bingchacha Section

Bingzhongluo (Yunnan) - Chawalung (Tibet) - Zayu (Tibet), with a total length of 305 kilometers, is known as the seventh route to Tibet and is also the closest route from Yunnan to Tibet. Bingchacha is rich in scenic spots, including snow-capped mountains, canyons, virgin forests, etc. It is one of the core areas of the Nujiang, Lancangjiang and Jinshajiang Three Parallel Rivers Nature Reserve. The Nujiang First Bay, Shimen Pass, Wuli Village, Deram Tea Ma Gudao and others converge here. 1️⃣ From Zayu County to Chawalung Township, the more than 200-kilometer journey is still difficult and dangerous. It is all unpaved roads, and you have to cross three snow-capped mountain passes with an altitude of more than 4,400 meters. However, China Communications Construction is already building tunnels. It can be completed within 3 years. Along the way, we climbed the snow-capped mountains and crossed the canyons, and saw the most primitive and magnificent scenery. 2️⃣ From Chawalung to Bingzhongluo, natural disasters frequently occur on this road, so don't take the risk of traveling in rainy or snowy weather. Shell craters and washboards are everywhere, the canyon has a large drop in height, the river is turbulent, the cliffs are steep, and the road along the mountain is dangerous. When driving on such roads, a 4WD SUV is the best choice. We also encountered thrilling moments when passing through the quicksand known as the "Death Valley". The Great Quicksand is a geological structure with perennial landslides. The mountain rock walls are exposed and quicksand is rolling. Whenever there is a strong wind, flying rocks will fall from the sky and rumble into the Nujiang River. A bridge is being built nearby. We will take a detour through the big quicksand and the road will be easier to navigate in the future. 3 The road conditions start to improve at the border between Yunnan and Tibet. It is a world of difference. It is all paved double lanes, with many green plants planted along the way and a viewing plank road built along the Nujiang River.
