Zhangjiajie National Forest Park

Getting There - •We stayed in Wulingyuan, a small tourist town next to the ZJJ West entrance. Incredibly convenient and easy to walk to the gate, and the park offers free shuttles all around the park. Attractions - •The Avatar Mountains and First Natural Bridge are next to one another and take only a few minutes to walk between. If heading there, I recommend taking the Bailong Elevator up. We paid a little extra for VIP to skip the line, and had an amazing view going up the World’s Tallest Elevator. Hotels - •While there are western accommodations around this area because of the tourism draw, we chose a mix of local/ western accommodations for convenience and comfort after a long day of hiking. If you have dietary restrictions or are looking for more of a western feel, The Pullman is incredibly close and offers everything you may need. Food & Restaurants - •Hunan is known for spicy food, so if you’re adventurous and down for a Sichuan spice, there are plenty of local barbecues and hot pot locations to try. However, there are some western locations like KFC and Starbucks if you need a quick and familiar fix. #trip #hiking #avatar
