Zhaoqing | Summer citywalk, this is my most satisfying weekend route of the year

It's not Xi'an, but it has the same ancient city walls as Xi'an; it's not Guilin, but it has the same landscape as Guilin; it's not Fujian's Gulangyu, but it has the same Gulangyu feel at Yanqian Village; spending a weekend for two days and one night, switching between different experiences, is really amazing! Itinerary: 1️⃣day: (1.2h from Guangfo)→Xijiang Bridge→Farmhouse Restaurant→Yanqian Village (Guangdong's Gulangyu)→Paifang Street→Music Fountain→Bauhinia West Dike Cultural Street→Hotel 2️⃣day: Ancient City Wall→Piyun Tower→Arcade Street→Zhaoqing Museum→Yuejiang Tower→River Fresh Specialty Dish 【Xijiang Bridge】So special‼️The upper layer is for road traffic, the lower layer for rail, with oval and circular ramps on both sides leading to the non-motorized vehicle lanes, a favorite spot for photographers, and it feels great to walk around. It's good to take pictures of the train🚆 from the pedestrian bridge, 'but it's best in the afternoon'; we went in the morning and waited 40 minutes for a train. 【Yanqian Village】Guangdong's Gulangyu✨, a row of shops decorated with taste, full of leisure vibes, 'recommended to come in the afternoon', you can watch the sunset and evening glow. Renting an electric bike here to ride around the lake is very comfortable. Walking towards the east gate of Qixingyan to Shuiyue East Dike, you can capture scenery like Guilin's landscape paintings, 📸good spots are at Shuiyueyan Cloud. 【Paifang Street】Great for eating, drinking, and having fun, taking photos in front of the archway is very popular. There is a water bus between Paifang Square and Yanqian Village. 【Music Fountain】Starts at 8 pm, about 20min, sitting in the square with the summer breeze is very comfortable; the best is to watch from the water bus, but you have to take the boat in the lake around 8 o'clock, 8 yuan per person. 【Bauhinia West Dike Cultural Street】A snack street by the lake, 'recommended to visit at night', it's more atmospheric when the lights are on. 【Ancient City Wall Piyun Tower】In the bustling Songcheng Road, with a thousand years of history, 'recommended to come in the morning'. Piyun Tower is a high point and also the best spot for photos. Climbing to the top of Piyun Tower, you can overlook the Duanzhou district. Besides taking photos of Piyun Tower on the city wall, we also discovered two good spots: enter from the gate of "Ancient Duan Famous County", ①there are two ancient trees in the square that look great, a photo with people, trees, and Piyun Tower is very outstanding (picture 1); ②climb up Liqiao Tower, from here you can take distant shots of Piyun Tower. 【Arcade Street/Zhaoqing Museum】A characteristic spot full of Zhaoqing's cultural heritage. You can visit Straw Shoe Street, Rice Warehouse Alley, Zhaoqing Museum, and check in the "Zhaoqing" characters. 【Yuejiang Tower】A red education base, built with an ancient charm, half an hour visit is enough. *️⃣There are sporadic paid parking spots around the ancient city wall, we found a free parking spot without a code near Liqiao Tower in the morning (very limited quantity) *️⃣For comfortable accommodation, you can choose Yanqian Village or Bauhinia West Dike *️⃣Parking at Xijiang Bridge is a bit far, temporary parking spots💰4/h. *️⃣For river delicacies, we found a place near Yuejiang Bridge, which is off the beaten path, with high cost-performance, facing the picturesque river view, steamed mantis shrimp with roe.
