Check in at Sunwen West Road, Zhongshan | New Year Food Market

This was my first time visiting Zhongshan during the Spring Festival, and I embarked on a food journey. As soon as we arrived, we went to Sunwen West Road near the Sheraton Zhongshan Hotel where we were staying and checked in at the New Year Food Market held there. As soon as we reached the entrance of the food street, we were attracted by the food stalls from well-known local restaurants in Zhongshan, and the stalls were crowded with people! First of all, we were naturally attracted by the aroma of the most famous Shiqi roasted pigeon in Zhongshan! The skin was roasted golden and crispy, and when you took a bite, the tender and juicy pigeon meat spread in your mouth, and the aroma was overflowing. We talked to the stall owner, and he said that they had prepared carefully in advance for this food street event, and they could sell hundreds of pigeons every day! As we continued walking, we came to the Xiaolan Dongsheng crisp grass carp booth. The unique cooking method of pot hanging makes the crisp grass carp taste fresh and elastic, which is completely different from ordinary fish. The Yako claypot rice next to it was also very popular. The steaming claypot rice had distinct grains, and the rice crust was crispy and delicious. Paired with special sauce and fresh ingredients, every bite was super satisfying! Then there was a special food, chrysanthemum cheese cake, which left a deep impression on me. It is a newly developed chrysanthemum delicacy, golden and tempting when it is just out of the oven, and you can pull out long cheese threads with a gentle pull. When you put it in your mouth, the fragrance of chrysanthemum and the richness of cheese are perfectly integrated, and the taste is rich and memorable! Here I also saw a very popular national intangible cultural heritage project - the sugar blowing stall, which was surrounded by adults and children. The children watched curiously as the master blew the syrup into various cute shapes, their eyes full of surprise. Under the guidance of the master, a child personally blew a small rabbit sugar man and was so excited that he couldn't put it down. In addition to food, there are also various cultural and creative products here.
