♥️ Alila – Luxurious Minimalism ✅ Opened in 2022, this luxury hotel under Hyatt is located on La Atoll, a 45-minute seaplane ride to the island. ✅ The island currently has two Chinese-speaking butlers, one Chinese front desk staff, one Chinese sales representative, and one Chinese diving instructor. ✅ The island is densely vegetated, resembling a tropical rainforest. Despite daily pest control in the morning and evening, there are still quite a few mosquitoes. The hotel provides mosquito repellent spray and lotion—be sure to apply it. If you're particularly sensitive, consider staying in the overwater villas, where there are far fewer insects. ✅ The hotel features a modern minimalist style, with rooms in gray and white tones. Overwater villas come with private pools and net hammocks, ticking all the boxes for Instagram-worthy elements. The beach bags and straw hats in the rooms are yours to take home. Besides mosquito repellent, the hotel also provides sunscreen and after-sun care. ✅ There are three types of overwater villas, which look almost identical—the only difference is their orientation. The pools in the rooms also come in horizontal or vertical layouts; you can request your preference when booking. ✅ The island has three restaurants in total. After an increase in Chinese guests, the menus have been adjusted to feature more Asian flavors, and all now offer Chinese menus. ✅ There’s a separate sandbank with a stunning overwater restaurant, just a 5-minute speedboat ride away. Dining there comes with a $75 credit—anything beyond that will be charged separately. ✅ The best snorkeling spot on the island is in front of Yakitori Bar. Snorkeling gear is free to rent—just grab it and head out, but stay safe!
