Spitzkoppe is a group of rock peaks located between the capital, Windhoek, and the port city of Swakopmund.
Made of granite that has weathered over approximately 700 million years,
its distinctive, rounded rock surface is a beautiful feature.

The Rock Arch is most commonly accessed by rental car (4WD recommended)
or local tour.
I rented a car and drove there from Swakopmund.💨
It takes about 2-3 hours by car from Swakopmund.
There are many unpaved roads and sandy areas,
and after sunset, it will be pitch black for a while.
If you're not confident in your driving skills, we recommend joining a tour.
Many people combine this visit with sightseeing at Cape Cross or along the coast.
There is also a campsite,
so you can enjoy sunrises, sunsets, and stargazing.

As winds are often very strong, wind protection is essential.
There are almost no shops or restrooms nearby!
