This trip will finally end in Estonia, one of the three small countries. This time I stayed in Estonia for three days, mainly in the old town and the upper and lower towns. The weather in the three small countries in June was very comfortable, and the sky did not get dark until 2300 in the evening, so the time for playing was greatly extended. Traveling by ferry on a trip to Northern Europe During my trip to Northern Europe, I traveled by ferry from Estonia to Sweden. My first time staying overnight on a ferry. I made a reservation from Japan and stayed in a private room, so I was able to sleep peacefully. I left at night and arrived in the morning, so the private room was a reasonable price considering the hotel fee and transportation costs. By the way, the most popular ferry route in Northern Europe, and one that is often used by Japanese people, is Finland⇔Estonia. This route is easy to take, as you can go sightseeing from Finland to Estonia on a day trip. #Seaside scenery

I went to Estonia for a year on a working holiday from March last year, and came back this month 🇪🇪 After coming back, I noticed that I had received a notice to renew my license. When I checked the renewal deadline, I found that it had already expired... However, I found out that if you are unable to complete the procedure within 6 months of expiration due to unavoidable reasons such as overseas travel, disaster, or hospitalization for illness, you can make a special new application 😆 So I checked with the driver's license testing center, and they said that if you are traveling overseas, you need both Japanese entry and exit stamps to prove that it was unavoidable. Currently, Japanese people can enter and leave Japan through automated gates, so naturally there are no stamps, and I had to request disclosure of my entry and exit records from the Immigration Bureau 😨😨 If you are leaving Japan for a long period of time on a working holiday or studying abroad, I recommend that you don't forget to get an entry and exit stamp 👍 You can get your entry and exit stamp at the reception desk just beyond the automated gates. Alternatively, if you can prove that you plan to stay long-term even if you still have time to renew your license, you can renew it in advance. For specific information, please check the website of the police station in your prefecture. Additional note! ⚠️ I checked with the nearest driving school and they told me that you can show that you are in an unavoidable situation with an airline ticket instead of an entry/exit stamp! This trip to Estonia not only allowed me to witness historical traces but also experience the convenience of modern life, and feel the unique charm and warmth of this country. My journey in Estonia began in the capital, Tallinn. This medieval city, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with its well-preserved medieval walls, ancient buildings, and cobblestone streets, made me feel like I had traveled back in time to that ancient era. Walking on the stone-paved roads of Tallinn's old town, I admired the ancient and exquisite buildings and felt the old and mysterious atmosphere of the city. The towering spires, pointed roofs, and colorful buildings formed a beautiful medieval picture. I wandered through the narrow streets and alleys, discovering hidden treasures: a small antique shop displaying ancient artifacts; an unassuming café with a rich aroma of coffee; or a mural on the wall telling an old story. The center of Tallinn's old town is the Town Hall Square (Raekoja plats), the central square of Tallinn and a place for various events. I strolled around the square, admiring the surrounding buildings and feeling the vitality of the city. The square was bustling with people, full of life and energy, with people walking, chatting, and shopping, showcasing the lively and friendly atmosphere of the city. I also visited the Tallinn Town Hall, one of the best-preserved Gothic town halls in Northern Europe, with its exquisite architectural style and interior decorations that were breathtaking. Leaving the old town of Tallinn, I headed to the Tallinn TV Tower, where I enjoyed a panoramic view of the entire city. This was one of the most unforgettable moments in Tallinn. From Tallinn, I traveled to the southern region of Estonia to experience its charming natural scenery. I first visited Lahemaa National Park, the largest national park in Estonia, with rich flora and fauna and beautiful natural scenery. I strolled through the park, admiring the beautiful scenery and feeling the tranquility and beauty of nature. Dense forests, clear lakes, and winding rivers formed a beautiful natural picture. An elderly local woman, with her not-so-fluent English, told me stories of Estonian history, and her enthusiasm and sincerity deeply moved me. Experiencing Estonian technology: Estonia is a highly developed technological country, and I experienced its e-government system, feeling the convenience of technology. In Estonia, many things can be done online, which made me appreciate the charm of technology. Sunset on the Baltic Sea coast: I spent an unforgettable sunset on the Baltic Sea coast. As the sun set, the sky turned golden-red, and the sea shimmered beautifully. I sat on the beach, quietly admiring the beautiful scenery, feeling inner peace and tranquility. This was one of the most unforgettable moments of my trip to Estonia. My trip to Estonia gave me a new understanding of the country. The restaurant is called "Restaurant Rataskaevu 16" in Tallinn, Estonia. I dropped in without a reservation after lunchtime. It was full, but when I waited in front of the restaurant for about 120 minutes, they prepared a table for me. The inside of the restaurant was cute, the staff were kind, and the food was delicious, so I was very happy. The salmon and salmon roe were seasoned with sweet mustard, and it was a flavor I'd never eaten before, but it was fresh and delicious💕 When they brought the food, they said "enjoy," and we had a lot of conversation, and when I paid, I even got a receipt with "thank you" written on it. Despite the difficulty in booking, we still enjoyed a delicious meal on the day.

Estonia is one of the cities we plan to visit once. It is very easy to travel there, just take a ferry from Helsinki for 2 hours. I recommend booking early in the morning so that you have more time to soak up the atmosphere. We decided to go back the same day so that we won't have to worry about our luggage. We chose to travel at 8.30 and arrived in Estonia at around 10.30. It was raining a little but not too cold. Then we traveled to the old town to have lunch at Olde hunsa, an ancient restaurant that maintains the medieval atmosphere, both in terms of food and people. During the journey to the restaurant, it was very exciting. The town still maintains its old style, various civilizations remain, but in there are almost all beautiful and lovely cafes. Every shop is worth sitting and visiting. I like it very much. Every shop is interesting. When we arrived at Olde hunsa, the receptionist was very cute. She welcomed us with the word "Beautiful Lady" every word. Her words were a bit old-fashioned but still kept her character. She was very cute. She had a very good service mind. She recommended food and took good care of the service. The shop was not very big and felt warm. They said that the food was from the Middle Ages and had been slightly modified. It was quite unique. I give this shop 10 stars. It was a new experience. When it was time to board the boat back, we found the Christmas market still there. They had activities to watch. Everyone looked so happy. If you have only 3 days in Estonia and don't know where to visit.Please come to Tallinn. Now Tallinn is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Tallinn has many faces and it considered the impossibly photogenic Old Town; a thriving tech and food culture; and the brutalist-style architecture that's a legacy of the Soviet years. You could spend few days unpeeling the layers of history. On a backpacking budget of 50 EUR per day, you can stay in a hostel dorm, cook your meals, limit your drinking, take public transportation to get around, and do mostly free or cheap activities like free walking tours and visiting national parks. If you plan on drinking, add 5-10 EUR per day to your budget. Tallinn Old Town is one of the best preserved Hanseatic town centres in the world. A stone’s throw away you’ll find the city’s business centre with modern towers and luxurious hotels, trendy neighbourhoods and large shopping centres. Tallinn’s luring coastline dotted with promenades and sandy beaches is especially rewarding during the summer but offers scenic views of the iconic cityscape throughout the year. It is the first point of entry to Estonia for most visitors, and if you’re the kind of person who likes to jump right in, then you’re in luck, as Tallinn city centre is never more than 15-minutes drive away regardless of if you happen to arrive by plane, train, coach or ferry.
