#malaysiatrip During my recent trip, I had the opportunity to stop by the Kawasan Rehat Gopeng along the highway. It turned out to be a fantastic resting area with ample parking space and a variety of facilities. As soon as I arrived, I noticed the bustling atmosphere, with several restaurants and a food court offering both halal and non-halal food options. What surprised me the most was the inclusion of a Mydin Mall grocery store, providing an unexpected shopping opportunity. It was convenient to pick up some essentials before continuing our journey. Overall, my experience at Kawasan Rehat Gopeng was excellent, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a convenient and enjoyable rest stop along the highway.

Location is a bit deep in the hill and not advisable to reach here after sunset,dark and narrow road.Room is nice,clean and perfect with pond view,so nature.Free fish feed will be given after check in.Breakfast and dinner provided are decent too.only the Wi-Fi connection is a bit weak.Friendly staffs and lot of parking space.Worth to stay and highly recommended

Gopeng was once the main tin mining town. From the late 19th century to the early 20th century, a large number of Chinese gathered in this town to mine tin. Walking in the town, you can see strong Chinese New Year decorations everywhere, with lights and lanterns hanging high, creating a very atmospheric atmosphere. New Attraction near Ipoh! Getting There - via self drive, parking are abundant & foc. Ticket price: RM 10 per person. This ticket price is van shuttle to take you into 5 different stop/checkpoints. Attractions - there are 5 checkpoints at which at each checkpoints you will learn about Gaharu/ Agarwood plantation & its products. Food & Restaurants - you can taste the weird but surprisingly good Gaharu ice cream here! Nature holds the key to our aesthetic, intellectual and spiritual satisfaction. Here at Sementra Nature Resort, it become obvious to me that nature has her own language. It’s really quite here and no phone line. It’s a great place to enjoy nature with nice setting. We are able to feed the fish in the pond in front of our room as an entertainment. A good place to explore nature in a more adventurous way. The site is right next to a river, and we found the cycling experience around the villages nearby wonderful. Facilities were well equipped, the tent that we had was in a good shape, came with AC which we had to top up on. The only downside that we faced was the inconsiderate noise from other guests (in common areas) at night, which was way past the quiet time that was supposed to be implemented. We hope that the quiet time can be reinforced more strictly so that guests can have a good rest after a whole day of activities. A small museum displays the tools of tin mining and other equipment from last generation. The museum is located in small town Gopeng. Free of charge for entry. 👣 A great place to see many cultural relics and memories left over the years to let the younger generation know how their ancestors came through. Heritage House with 1000 of antique and artifacts depicts the lifestyle of a rich tin mine tycoon living a century ago in Early Gopeng. 👀 The interior itself resembled the design from the past. Bedsheets/bed are just okay, i personally brought my own cotton sheets to lay it out on the bed. Friendly staffs. There is a river behind the camping area but not really suitable for a swim. Gaharu Tea Valley is a plantation of Agarwood trees in Gopeng, around 22 km from Ipoh city, takes about 30 minutes to drive to reach this tea valley. The founder, Mr David Ho started to plants Agarwood trees in 1992; the plantation occupied around 300 acres of land with approximately 200,000 agarwood trees. Agarwood considers as one of the most expensive wood and also rare. It takes a minimum of ten years to develop the tree. Agarwood is used for perfume, tea, incense and traditional medicine. To enjoy this tea valley, buy a ticket for RM 10 for a ride around Gaharu Tea plantation to experience the Agarwood story. The first stop is Hoga Hilltop View and Cafe, in here you can enjoy a scenic view of Agarwood plantation and Gopeng town, relax and unwind while having some Gaharu tea or Coffee.
