Autumn is short but incredibly beautiful. Ireland is a green country, so you can imagine how stunning it is when all the trees turn yellow and red during the autumn. I still remember one day when the trees were green, and just after one night, my entire university had transformed completely. My first, and of course biased, autumn spot in Ireland is my university—University College Dublin, Smurfit Graduate Business School in Blackrock. Trust me, it is absolutely stunning. I had an amazing trip to Howth, Ireland, which is so easy and quick to reach from Dublin by train—perfect for a day or two getaway. The scenic hiking was a great way to explore, and we spent some peaceful time soaking up the sunshine while watching the sea. The local church was beautiful to visit, and wandering through the market was a great way to experience the town. We wrapped up our trip with a visit to McNeills Pub, where we enjoyed a delicious seafood chowder and tried blackcurrant beer, which was a unique treat. Overall, it was a fantastic experience that I’d highly recommend!

1⃣️Duration: About 2-5 hours (roughly half a day, depending on time and stamina) 2⃣️Transportation: Both Dart and bus stops are quite close, not much difference ➡️Outbound Dart, city center Connolly-Howth, about half an hour. ➡️H3, the bus stop is next to Starbucks, about forty minutes, you can charge on the bus. But pay attention to the timetable. 3⃣️Attractions: Howth town and enjoy the scenery along 4 hiking routes, with detailed introductions on the signposts 📌If you are not physically fit, you can return from around Howth Head 📌The first half of the four routes is the same, it is a coastal hiking trail, not difficult to walk, soft shoes are sufficient 📌The green and blue lines take about the same time, around 2 hours, both return to the town after walking along the coast 📌The red line takes about 2.5 hours, the purple line is the longest, basically circling the peninsula. These two are suitable for friends with good stamina 📌These routes are easy to find, with clear color-coded signs ✅There is a seafood festival recently, and a small market, quite lively, you can take a stroll ✅If hiking, remember to bring water, comfortable walking shoes, a jacket, and snacks to replenish energy

Want a little brake from the city life? Visit Howth in Ireland. An hour away by bus from the city centre in Dublin you get to experience the Irish nature. All the cliffy roads and the Irish Sea. Can be accomplished on an afternoon, and be back in the city in time for a pint of Guinness. And if you happen to stumble upon a narrow little cliff road, try going down, you’ll definitely have the place to yourself, and one heck of a view!
