This time I took the Taiwan Tourist Shuttle in Hualien. I recommend going on weekdays, the coastline is very beautiful. The Rift Valley Line attractions are very ordinary (last time I brought my DSLR, I didn't even want to press the shutter). On weekends, it's so crowded that you have to stand. This time, on a weekday, I saw that the bus was empty, and the driver just drove off. (Online reviews say Yuchang and Fengbin are the best, but I haven't been to either on these two trips.) As I have not much time there, I didn't finish the trip to the very top destination because i think that was the last bus stop. #exploreasia One of the must visit when you come visit Taroko National Park. As the name suggest, many swallows forge and play among the rocks that was formed over tens of thousands of years. The marble was sculpted over the years by the Liwu river running across, with many potholes that pockmark the grotto. The unique structure was indeed the magnificent work of mother nature. We were lucky to spot a resting swallow and boy it was cute. According to the guide, the number of swallows have decreased over the years so we were lucky to see a few having fun at the grotto. Safety of the public is of utmost importances so all visitors are required to wear a helmet. Falling stones can be due to animals or rain, hence unpredictable. The trail is suitable for all as it is flat all the way through and relatively short. Nevertheless the view was great! #taroko #awesomepic #couplestrip

#hotelreview Check-in was a breeze and the staffs were very helpful in answering our questions and we arrived post-typhoon and were clueless about the conditions there. Hotel room was spacious and had a nice big tub with great view! I was told the glass can be seen through from the outside. Bummer. Breakfast selection was great but not all was nice. The opening hours were long too so you can slowly enjoy your breakfast till as late as 1.30pm! There are several restaurants and cafe nearby so you can explore by foot or take a taxi to town as well. Hotel can help you get a taxi if you have difficulty getting one so that is a plus! Rating: 4/5

I used Trip's late bird booking program and searched for "Hinoki Residence" in Ji'an Township, Hualien. After reading the reviews and online photos, I thought it was pretty good, so I tried staying at a B&B. Because our arrival time would be after 9pm, we called the store in advance to let them know that we would be late. They can help keep the key and arrange the check-in process later. The lobby is spacious and there are enough elevators to avoid traffic jams. The room is quite spacious and does not feel crowded. There is also an outdoor space.
