Insadong is famous for their dessert, there are so many nice cafes here and this caught our eyes! Look at it, have you seen cakes on a conveyor belt instead of sushi? This is my first time experiencing it as well!! The entrance of the cafe is a railway track 🛤 theme, there are lot of nice greenery which makes this place look extra nice and cozy! I ordered a earl grey chocolate cake which was really tasty and special, love the hint of the earl grey taste on top of the chocolate cake. What I like the most is the maple cream coffee, it’s so unique and nice as well. Not too sweet :) They offer a lot of interesting flavour cakes and coffee, would recommend this place!

I tried out "renting a hanbok" during my trip to Korea. I had been interested in it before my trip, but when I actually tried it, I found it to be a fun way to experience culture and a casual way to enjoy it in between sightseeing. Here, I'll summarize what I actually did and what I wish I'd known beforehand. [Place I used] There are many hanbok rental shops in Seoul, but I used a shop in the Insadong area. As I looked at the rows of hanboks in the store, my desire to try it grew stronger. [Hanbok I chose] I chose a maroon hanbok with a chiffon overskirt. There was a wide variety of colors and designs, and so many to choose from that it was hard to choose. The staff even helped me put on the hanbok and set my hair accessories. [Experience process] 1. Check in and pay at the store (preliminary explanation given) 2. Choose your hanbok (choose your own color and size) 3. Dress up by staff (about 10 minutes) 4. It's an exhibition where you can have a really good experience, so much so that I went twice with my boyfriend who is now my husband and with my parents! Since this exhibition is held by completely blocking out light, you have to store all your belongings before you go in. In a dark space without light, you only listen to and feel your hearing, taste, and touch. #0yentravelFebruary2025 A restaurant serving perilla yukgaejang, located behind the amore hotel where I was staying. 큰손집 Yukgaejang is a spicy soup dish made by boiling beef with bracken and bean sprouts. I don't like beef or spicy food, so I wasn't really interested, but I decided to visit just because I like perilla. I want to try anything with perilla. The boiling perilla soup is endlessly gentle and mellow. I've never tried regular yukgaejang, so I can't compare it, but the beef and bracken are wrapped in perilla soup and it's delicious! You can use salted shrimp and pepper to your liking. They open from 8am (7am on Saturdays), and the menu is easy on the stomach, so it's perfect for breakfast. ・ The owner was friendly, and when I was fascinated by the pots of gochujang and doenjang lined up right at the entrance, he let me try some. #0yentravelFebruary2025 I couldn't forget the first hotteok I had before COVID, but after COVID, whenever I passed by Insadong, there was a tent, but I couldn't find it open. I was worried that I might not be able to eat it anymore. This time, I finally got to eat it. Inside the freshly fried, fluffy and chewy hotteok is black syrup with a rich cinnamon flavor and seeds of grains such as pumpkin. Other hotteok I had eaten several times in Seoul did not contain these seeds. This hotteok is probably similar to Sia Hotteok in Busan. The seeds add an accent and are delicious as expected. When I asked the lady about the opening hours, she told me that it is from 11:00 until they sell out (around 16:00).
