Juneau is the capital of Alaska and a bigger city in the southern part of the state. We arrived at the cruise ship terminal and took a short walk to the downtown Transit Center bus station and hopped on a bus towards Mendenhall Glacier. The glaciers are always changing and shifting (now at a faster pace due to climate change). The park surrounding Mendenhall has a waterfall (Nugget Falls) and hiking trails as well. We took the same bus back downtown and walked around the city, grabbed some food to warm us up from the cold rain. #us #usatravel #alaska #glacier

had an excellent lunch at alaska as a part of a cruise. the crab legs were giant and broiled to perfection. the scenery while eating the crab was excellent as well. such a nice change of scenery from the everyday hustle and bustle life. #crab

I went around the end of March! It was still a bit snowy on the ground, and it was definitely cold enough where I shoulda packed a heavier coat; Nonetheless, it was a very beautiful place and I wanna go back again!

#Get a discount without relying on luck. Tracy’s King Crab is an old crab shop in Juneau, Alaska. Whenever a cruise ship docks, there will be a long line of people waiting to buy crabs. The day we went, it was drizzling, but no one backed down. We didn’t back down either. When we arrived in Alaska, we had to eat crabs. When we entered the shop, we chose what we wanted. As you can see in the picture, it costs about $100. If there are many of you, you can order a large size by the bucket. When someone orders by the bucket, the whole shop cheers. It’s like a tradition. After we got the crabs, we went to find a place to sit and eat. The seats were long tables like a cafeteria. The crabs were fresh and delicious. No dipping sauce was needed. Juneau is a port excursion destination during an Alaska cruise, offering a chance to see the Mendenhall Glacier. A 20-minute shuttle bus ride brings you to the site. The trekking path, which takes about 20 minutes, feels like a pleasant walk. The weather was great, and the trail was truly beautiful. Finally, the glacier comes into view. Unfortunately, this is all that remains of the glacier, as much of it has melted. 😢 Next to it is Nugget Falls. The water cascades down with such force that the sound is overwhelming. On the way back, I spotted some unnamed wildlife. I couldn’t identify them. Mount Juneau is located in the suburbs of Juneau and can be reached on foot. The trails are in good condition and there are guides at the forks. Only a few small river waterfalls caused by melting snow may be a bit dangerous. The Grand Loop includes Mount Juneau, traveling along the ridgeline in the snow area, then cutting down the valley and returning to the trailhead. The route was unclear and there were no signs. The offline map on the phone was difficult to see the information on the screen due to the reflection of the sun and snow. It is not recommended to go alone if there is no local guide or if you lack snow experience.

I loved the snow blowing off the top. 🏔️ 5. Warming up in the sauna after my sun bathing shenanigans. 😎 6. One of my favorite pastimes at the chalet was watching the bush planes fly through the mountains. 🛩️ 7. Saying goodby before flying back to Talkeetna. 🌞 8. I was lucky enough to visit Alaska this year, and fly on top of the Mendenhall Glacier. We spent 2 hours on top of the glacier and did the trekking. The experience was awesome! After that, we had a nice lunch at the Creek Salmon Bake and did gold panning. It's really nice to see this part of the world.
