A Superyacht's Home on the Water
The 2025 Design & Innovation Awards, recently held amidst the stunning scenery of Kitzbühel, Austria, saw the 67-meter fully custom superyacht M/Y Kasper 7, crafted by Benetti, capture the judges' attention and win two prestigious awards: Best Interior Design in the Motor Yachts over 500GT category and Best Yacht Architecture in the Displacement Motor Yachts category. This remarkable achievement underscores Benetti's exceptional capabilities and craftsmanship in the design and construction of custom superyachts.
One judge noted, "The bold interior design is reminiscent of an art gallery, showcasing some of the world's most intriguing artwork." The judges also praised the yacht's interior designer for the unique way they accentuated the shape of the dining room windows to enhance the interior space.
"M/Y Kasper 7 is not just a superyacht; it's a home on the water that we created. Its design and construction benefited from the shipyard's exceptional skills and the close collaboration we established. Ultimately, we achieved this outstanding result," commented Nisrine Karagulla, interior designer and owner of M/Y Kasper 7.
"We are incredibly proud to be crowned with these two awards, which highlight our excellence in the design and construction of fully custom yachts and serve as a testament to our close collaboration with the owners. It is a great honor for the Benetti team to help owners realize their dreams. All of this is thanks to the craftsmanship and tireless efforts of our professional team," said Camilla Calza, Benetti Marketing Director.
M/Y KASPER 7
The M/Y Kasper 7 project was born from the request of a couple who desired to create their own home on the water. For the exterior design, the couple consulted with Benetti and Cassetta Yacht Designers. For the interior, the owner, Nisrine Karagulla, is an interior designer herself and owns an interior design and architecture firm called Ask Deco in Beirut, Lebanon. She brought a unique and exceptional interior design vision to this yacht.
Upon boarding this superyacht, guests are immediately captivated by a sense of wonder, especially in the main deck salon: with a width of over 10 meters from one side of the hull to the other, the large windows not only reflect the overall elegance of the yacht's architecture but also allow the exterior lines to appear fluid and bright under natural light. Four circular windows, each nearly 2 meters in diameter, are truly spectacular and serve as a signature feature of the yacht's exterior.
From the spacious main salon to the cabins on the lower deck, the yacht's interior is filled with bright natural light. These beautifully shaped and innovatively designed windows create a modern and luminous feel, highlighting the unique and distinctive design of the yacht. This was also a strong desire of the owner, who wanted to capture the beautiful scenery outside within the yacht, creating a close connection between the interior and the natural environment.
The interior of M/Y Kasper 7, meticulously designed by the owner, embodies a perfect balance between luxury and comfort, inspired by the relaxed atmosphere of a summer villa. The simple yet refined design style creates an airy and welcoming space, with attention to detail evident throughout.
High-quality materials such as oak, cross-cut travertine, and white pepperwood create an elegant and warm environment. The furniture and artwork inside the yacht are all custom-made, conveying a sense of refinement while maintaining a relaxed and casual tone. The lighting design is ingenious, as if giving each item its own light source, creating an intimate, delicate, and sophisticated overall ambiance.
The cabin design of M/Y Kasper 7 is both spacious and practical, cleverly integrating organizational solutions, such as adjustable shelves, with a consistent aesthetic, reflecting the elegance of the entire space. The use of teak for the decks, floors, and walls evokes the sinuous lines of a sailboat, emphasizing functionality while maintaining a connection to the nautical style.
The hull of M/Y Kasper 7, meticulously designed by Benetti, is optimized for cruising speed, thereby improving fuel efficiency. This superyacht has a top speed of 16 knots and possesses impressive endurance, enabling long, uninterrupted voyages.
M/Y Kasper 7 has been awarded the three-star SEA Index® certification for its superyacht eco-index. Launched in 2020 by the Yacht Club de Monaco and Credit Suisse Group, this certification aims to support yacht owners committed to promoting sustainable development in the yachting industry and is currently the only rating system in the world for yacht CO2 emissions. This rating certification is based on CO2 emission calculations verified by Lloyd's Register and is awarded by the Yacht Club de Monaco to applicant vessels. The three-star SEA Index® certification of M/Y Kasper 7 fully demonstrates the unwavering commitment of its owners, crew, and shipyard to environmental management and marine sustainability.
