We had chosen one of the overwater villas for a unique experience, and the room did not disappoint—it was lovely and came with a stunning view. While we hoped to witness a gorgeous sunset during our stay, the poor weather prevented that until after we had checked out. That aside, the water was a stunning turquoise blue, absolutely breathtaking, and the powdery white sand was incredible. The breakfast was exceptional, offering an impressive variety of options on the menu, along with a buffet. On our final night, we dined at the Umami restaurant to mark my daughter's birthday. The food was exquisite—everything was full of flavor and delicious. In summary, our stay was amazing!

The facilities are so new they shine🆕 You can shoot immersive photos without even leaving the room—the outdoor pool has an amazing atmosphere, the trendy net bed is perfect for lounging and snapping pics, and just stepping down the stairs puts you right into the crystal-clear sea. I couldn’t stop taking photos📸 Upon check-in, they gave me an Alila logo straw hat and a large canvas bag, both practical and photogenic! Their lip balm is super good and you can take it home without worry～ 🌴 Relaxation tips The island is small, you can explore it in 20 minutes, focusing on a laid-back vibe! ✔️ 30-minute travel photoshoot (one printed photo), the butler’s photography skills are amazing ✔️ Free dolphin watching tour🐬: groups of dolphins leap out of the water, so healing ✔️ Snorkeling must-see! Two hidden gem spots personally tested and highly recommended: 1. The sea area in front of UMAMI restaurant: be sure to swim to the sea trench where the light blue meets the deep blue. The coral reefs are stunning, and the fish are colorful. The water near the shore is murky and you can’t see anything! 2. Opposite rooms 204-205 of the lagoon water villa: the boundary between deep and shallow water hides many fish and corals, the experience is just as good as the first spot ⚠️ Important reminder: don’t snorkel in the deep sea area (the butler said it’s over 25 meters deep), no need to rent a GoPro for underwater photos (70 USD is a rip-off!), a waterproof case for your phone is enough within 3 meters～

Every time we went, Chanaka crafted delicious cocktails that brought happiness. The Yaki Jam is just incredible... such an insane taste! We started on a half-board plus plan but switched to all-inclusive after meeting Chanaka — wished we’d chosen all-inclusive from the start. Both the food and drinks are superb. If you find Chanaka, he'll prepare plenty of delightful drinks for you. He even kindly shared the Yaki Jam recipe, making us truly happy. The staff are extremely friendly and work hard. If only I had more money, I would give huge tips. Everyone should come here for their honeymoon >< Ah... I want to go back again...

My wife and I have just come back from a 9-night stay at Alila Kothaifaru celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary， and it was an incredible experience from beginning to end. From stepping off the seaplane， the staff made us feel welcomed and well cared for. We split our stay between a beach villa and an overwater sunset villa. The beach villa was surrounded by lush greenery and very private， though the mosquitoes in the outdoor bathroom/pool area were a minor annoyance. However， once we moved to the overwater villa， it was like being in a dream—breathtaking views， tranquil atmosphere， and complete serenity. That’s definitely where we’ll stay for our entire visit next time! Our host Yunus was extremely helpful—he took care of everything from snorkeling gear to dining reservations and even assisted with getting medicine when I wasn't feeling well. The service was impeccable across the board. The food definitely deserves its own mention! It was some of the best we've ever had. Arya at the Yakitori Bar exceeded expectations—his cocktails were excellent， and he surprised us with fresh coconut water on the beach and even gifted us homemade coconut oil. The chefs， Bhupendra and Frank， regularly checked in and made special dishes not even on the menu. Cherry at Sea Salt remembered how my wife liked her coffee and had it ready without any prompts—small touches like that made a big difference. We also enjoyed talking with Danilo and Salam， who made us feel at home. One of the general managers， Jamal， sent a resort hat to our room after discussing my travel collection—a thoughtful gesture that was greatly appreciated.
