Had a trip to Montenegro and I cannot recommend Budva and Kotor enough. The scenic beaches without overwhelming crowds and the tranquil mountains captured my soul. Budva offered a beautiful coastline for seaside relaxation and Kotor stole my heart with charming old town and breathtaking bay view. The foods are fresh and very affordable. Many cozy, nice restaurants and cafe options to choose from. Huge bonus point if you are a cat lover like me. Both town are full of friendly street cats lounging in sun-drenched corners. The historic old towns are picturesque with well-preserved architecture and views, like exactly straight out from postcards. The vibe is peaceful. authentic and perfect for slow exploration or long trip. I highly recommend these 2 cities if you are looking for a peaceful getaway. I visited Kotor Castle in Kotor, Montenegro. This place is a symbol of tourism in Kotor. The view of the lake and mountains from the castle is amazing, so although it's tough, be sure to climb up. It's a perfect spot for Instagram! The entrance fee is 15 euros, but if you climb from the back route of the castle, it's free. However, this route takes about 1.5 hours to climb the mountain and is quite tiring. Montenegro/Kotor Autumn in Montenegro is comfortable and the food was delicious. It's a little chilly at night, so you'll need a jacket. I recommend staying for 1-2 nights, but if you're staying in Croatia, it's also a good idea to take a day trip by bus. I didn't feel like anything was going on, but there is a bit of a dangerous atmosphere. Please be careful of pickpockets, rip-offs, and touts. You don't need euro bills. It is an ancient seaside town that was once ruled by different regimes such as the Roman Empire, the Byzantine Empire, the Kingdom of Serbia, the Republic of Venice, and the Austrian Empire. Its architectural style is mainly influenced by the Republic of Venice and presents a typical Mediterranean style. Coto's walls, fortresses and old town are the main features of the city. The city wall was built by Italians with stone and bricks between the 9th and 15th centuries. It is 20 meters high, 16.1 meters thick and 4.5 kilometers long. The old city has three gates: the North Gate, the South Gate and the Sea Gate. All of them were built in the Middle Ages. After many repairs and reconstructions, they are still well preserved. The most famous of these is the Sea Gate, Morska vrat, also known as the West Gate, which is located opposite the harbor on the west city wall. It is the main central gate of the old city and most tourists enter and exit from here. The North Gate is the oldest and largest fortress in the Old Town of Kotor.
