Yao Temple in Qingxu is located in Yaocheng Village, Mengfeng Town, Qingxu County. It was built by later generations to commemorate Emperor Yao. Yao's surname was Yiqi, and his given name was Fangxun. According to legend, Yaocheng was Yao's castle 4,000 years ago. Later generations built the Yao Temple on the site of Yao's thatched cottage to honor his merits.
