Halfway between Lanzhou in Gansu province and Chengdu in Sichuan lies Langmusi, a small border town famed for its Tibetan monasteries and surrounding mountains. You can get here by bus from either Lanzhou or Chengdu in about 6 to 8 hours. Although there is really only one main street here, you can still find lots of places to stay such as hotels and hostels. The place is quite popular among Chinese tourists, so you won't have to look far for accommodation. The same goes for food. All along the main street, there are plenty of small restaurants. You won't find a KFC or McDonald's here, but that is a good thing as you can discover the local cuisine. There are several Tibetan restaurants where you can have yak meat or momos, but my favorite is the yak yogurt. You won't be bored in Langmusi. You can easily spend a couple of days here exploring the monasteries and climbing the mountains such as the red rock mountain. A little further away from the town are some other beautiful places such as Zhagana, Zoige grasslands and flower lake. They are all easily accessible on a day trip. For something a little more active contact the Black Tent Cafe. They can take you on horse riding tours, wildlife watching tours or even let you fly in a hot air balloon.

Another region worth visiting in China is the Northwest. The nature there is very beautiful and magnificent. Today, we would like to recommend one place, Gahai Lake, a large freshwater lake in Gansu Province. It is a tourist attraction that is not very crowded. There is no entrance fee. The brown grass fields in summer contrast with the clear blue water that stretches as far as the eye can see. It is very beautiful here. The sun is quite strong. It is recommended to bring sunscreen. #MissingNature

Langmu Temple | Gannan must pass the pilgrimage site Some people say "Do not come to Langmu Temple, equal to not to Gannan", which shows the importance of this Tibetan Buddhist monastery in Gannan. Langmu Temple is generally planned to travel in Gannan or North Sichuan. It is close to the Gannan Labrang Monastery to the north and the Zoige Grassland to the south. [Recommended travel itinerary] arrive at Langmu Temple at noon on the first day. In the afternoon, visit the Gedi Temple in Sichuan, then walk to the Bailongjiang Gorge and stay in the town at night. The next morning, I went to the Gandan Sai Chi Temple in Gansu. After that, you can take the Noons shuttle bus to leave Langmu Temple and go to other attractions in Gannan. [What can I experience here? 1 Langmu Temple Riding Langmu Temple There is a horse-riding tour nearby. The horse team has a consultation shop in the town. The price ranges from 150-400 yuan. The horse-riding destination includes the source of Bailongjiang and Hongshi. Cliffs, flowers and other places. 2 Langmu Temple celestial burial is biased toward Gansu in Langmu Temple. There is a celestial burial platform on the back hill of Saiji Temple. The celestial burial in this area is more open and can be viewed by tourists. If you have the consent of your family, you can take pictures. 3 Turning the mountains and turning the water to the stupa Tibetan people's devout faith is the snow lotus in the sky, full of pure to pure. They are kind and simple, and they only turn for the faith. An ancient turn of the road outside Xiahe Labrang Monastery is a lap I have to go to the Labrang Monastery every time. This is also one of my favorite temples.

July 13th – Departing from Aba in the morning, we arrived at Langmusi Town by noon. This is another must-visit pristine town in Gannan, straddling the border of Gansu and Sichuan, with the Bailong River flowing through its heart. Two monasteries face each other across the river. Though small, Langmusi is lively and bustling, where lamas, tourists, and merchants gather, with Tibetan, Mandarin, and various dialects echoing in the air. Along the Bailong River, unique restaurants perch by the water, reminiscent of Dali's scenery. Langmusi consists of two monasteries: the Datsan Langmusi Gerdi Monastery on the Sichuan side and the Sertri Monastery on the Gansu side, collectively known as Langmusi. The highlight of the monastery is the Fifth Gerdan Living Buddha's Mummified Body Hall, where the miraculously preserved remains of a Living Buddha who passed away centuries ago are enshrined. Every hall in the Gerdi Monastery immerses visitors in the mystical tales of religious lore. Hiking through the Namo Grand Canyon, our group sought the secrets of the Bailong River's source and the Fairy Cave. Surrounded by bizarre rock formations and surreal landscapes, the canyon is steeped in fantastical religious legends, including the "Fairy Cave" and "Tiger Cave." Staying overnight in Langmusi, the five of us shared a bottle of barley wine but still craved more, so we asked the shop owner for another two taels, and then another two. Fueled by the drinks, we spoke freely—sharing our Gannan experiences, discussing life ideals, and reminiscing about the bonds formed along the journey. Outside the window, the Bailong River murmured under colorful lights, while inside, newly acquainted travelers clinked glasses amid laughter and chatter. This earthly paradise washed away worldly worries. Tomorrow, we head to Labrang Monastery...
