When she couldn't decide whom to marry she decided to take a jump into the sea and made promised that she would appear every once a year. So that is why 'Nyale' became annual ritual for the local fishermen as it is believed that those little creature coming from the sea are the other form of the princess :) how fascinating isn't it!
