Agwas was a tiny place in the mountains. I think the cafe was understaffed. No one caters you upon entering the cafe to get you a table, you have to look for your own table. I think table reservation would have been better before dining in since it is going to be a long ride going to the cafe. Staff was accommodating even when the place is packed. We waited for around 30 minutes just to get a table. Food was okay but not really extraordinary. Pancake and slush were good Pasta was on the sweeter side and is not my cup of tea. Chicken was tender but lacks flavor. Ice cream had ice crystals it was like a sorbet. It is overall a great place to try if you want something new or the need a quick break from the city. Fist visit, tried their: Smoked Ham all day breakfast. Served as Ham, Eggs, Bread & oranges. Every item on the plate was very nice. Good quality & taste. Timeless elegance in a relaxing setting on the beach is what we deserve. It has been a tradition for me and my hubby to celebrate our anniversaries out of town but since it’s still pandemic and I still have this fear of going to other places outside Cebu, my hubby and I both agreed to celebrate our 8th wedding anniversary somewhere with exclusive access to the beach. I came across this beach villa called Matahom Paradise Villas in Medellin, Cebu about 3-hour drive from the city and it was a perfect place for the whole family to enjoy. The word ‘matahom” is a Cebuano dialect that means beautiful. My best friend also wanted to celebrate her birthday so we decided to celebrate it together and invited some of our closest friends with us. We booked their Glass House villa which can accommodate 8 persons and their ocean view villa which can accommodate 5 persons. The ocean view villa has its own infinity pool facing the beach. We were so lucky that time because there were no other guests so we have the entire place for us. I was quite amazed at the interiors of the two villas, they have this Bali-inspired style and what I like most of it was their outdoor style bathroom. For the Glass House, I love the homey vibe. It comes with a master bedroom with a king-sized be, a dining area, a mini-kitchen but it’s not fully furnished though, it has its own mini living area and there’s a mezzanine that can accommodate 6 people. The Glass House has a balcony where the family can really hang out. The other villa which is the ocean view villa can accommodate 5 people. Everyone was crowded into the one square in the midst of renovations that were going on at the time of our visit, leaving for a less-than-desirable level of noise and lack of personal space. HOWEVER, Pueblito Paisa is locates on a high hill in the middle of the Aburrá Valley - Cerro Nutibara - and offers wonderful views of the sprawling city of Medellin. I’ve stayed at this hotel many times, & it has a lot of very good things going for it. To name a few; it’s attached to one of the most popular & beautiful malls in the city of Medellin, called Centro Commercial El Tesoro. So, you have at your fingertips great shopping, as well as many restaurant dining options here. The rooms are very comfortable, & come with breathtaking views of the valley of Medellin. The buffet breakfast each morning is average & certainly nothing to complain about, but nothing outstanding either. The bar upstairs is nice & with great views. However, hardly anyone is ever there. The pool area is small, but with great views of the city. Unfortunately, there’s a lot of constraining pool rules & regulations. Hotel security monitors the pool area closely, so that you don’t bring anything to eat or drink with you & there is nothing available to order, while you’re in the sunny heat at the pool. I’ve been to this pool many times & I’ve never seen people stay for long because it’s really not a cozy area. Even though it could be a very beautiful & fun experience, the confining rules & regulations make Novotel’s pool area a hostile environment & not enjoyable, nor good for relaxation, or especially rehydration! The hotel gym is less than basic & I looked at it once & I immediately knew that there is very little in there for me. I enjoy weight training & cardio & the gym is incredibly limited. The staff at the hotel is very friendly & even the security at the pool is polite, even when they tell you “No” to even having a drink of water, while at the pool. For a hotel pool experience in Medellin, I definitely recommend the InterContinental Medellin, because it is truly a resort property & they have poolside dining, with poolside waiter service. I’d stay here again, at this Novotel. But, there are better options in the city for a more well rounded hotel experience. #hotelreview

It is not difficult to give this a 5 out of 5. As soon as you enter the hotel, the staff are so polite, helpful. I would highly recommend anybody visiting the City to book your stay here you will be pleasantly surprised how welcoming and friendly all the staff are. They have coffee facilities in your room. I went down to reception to ask if it’s possible to have a kettle so I can make a cup of tea within a few minutes kettle was brought to my room. We had breakfast each morning at the hotel which was absolutely fantastic. The young man that makes the omelettes is so good, one of the best omelettes I’ve ever eating. #hotelreview

Good location to the area of cafes and restaurants (about 8 min walk). Staff very friendly, professional, and helpful. They also speak English which is helpful because my Spanish is basic. When my husband got sick Juan Carlos, front desk, translated to the cooks to make food specially for him. The room was massive and clean. Lots of pillows and even more in the closet to choose from. The kitchen was great to have, but it only had 2 cups, 2 plates, 2 knives, 2 forks and 2 spoons. No pot or pan to use on the stove...thought that was odd. No kitchen towel/cloth to wash/dry dishes. Does have a microwave which could be useful. Enough space in the fridge for you to put a few things into. A couple of small things could improve the room: a full length mirror (room was huge with lots of wall space), an extra roll of toilet paper in the bathroom, a make up mirror in the bathroom. The bathroom is a good size and was very clean. Only negative: the water temperature control in the bathroom is awful, it's either cold or very hot, and randomly changes without intervention, and moving the handle just ever so slightly will not get you a temperature you want, cool or hot, those are the choices. Pool/Jacuzzi area is great, gets lots of sun. It's a very shallow pool so the temperature of the water can get warm, but I still liked it. It was clean and they have nice pool towels & sun beds. The pool area also has a covered area you can relax on nice couches and chairs, can even get room service up there if you want. Other positives: great wifi, quiet area (not on Saturday night if people across the street are partying/watching soccer) Overall, a fantastic & comfortable stay. #hotelreview
