Lake Como is absolutely stunning! This freshwater lake is surrounded by mountains and charming small villages like Bellagio, Varenna, and Menaggio. I visited with friends, took a boat ride around the lake, and enjoyed the breathtaking views of the mountains and the adorable lakeside houses. The atmosphere is peaceful, perfect for relaxation. Strolling through the small towns by the lake is delightful, with plenty of cafes and restaurants to choose from. I truly loved the ambiance here—it felt refreshing and relaxing. Additionally, there are beautiful villas and gardens to explore. If you're looking for a picturesque destination not far from major cities, Lake Como is an excellent choice!

Particularly in winter and spring, the area is enveloped in enchanting mist and light effects, creating a poetic natural view. There are many ways to explore Lake Como, with boat tours being one of the most popular options. You can opt for nighttime cruises, public ferries, or even rent private boats. For a more relaxed experience on the water, kayaking and canoeing are great choices. Many rental shops offer guided tours to help you discover hidden spots and islands around the lake. Water sports are abundant here as well. Thanks to its calm waters and favorable wind conditions, sailing and windsurfing are very popular. You can also rent jet skis, and the lake is perfect for other water activities like water skiing and snorkeling. Water skiing, in particular, is a favorite, though it requires some prior experience. Lake Exploration: You can choose to explore the lake by public ferry (Navigazione Lago di Como) or private yacht. Opting for the "slow boat" route is recommended to enjoy the scenic views while traveling between towns. 2. Recommended Towns: Bellagio features winding cobblestone streets and hillside gardens, while Varenna offers a serene and elegant atmosphere, making it a favorite among visitors. 3. Best Seasons to Visit: Spring and summer (April–September) are peak travel seasons, with pleasant weather and vibrant green waters providing the best scenery. 4. Clothing Tips: If you plan to board a boat or stroll along the lakeside, comfortable walking shoes and a sun hat are recommended. 📌 For those with limited time, consider starting from Como and taking a boat to Bellagio. The one-way trip takes about 45 minutes, making it ideal for a half-day or full-day itinerary.

The view? Picture-perfect lake panoramas! 🚤 Ferry to Bellagio The mid-morning ferry ride north was a highlight itself—villa views and calm blue waters. Bellagio greeted us with charming alleys, boutique shops, and a lakeside lunch of fresh pasta and white wine. 🍨 Laid-back Menaggio Next up: Menaggio. Slower-paced, with a beautiful promenade and cozy town square. We cooled off with gelato while soaking in the sunshine. 🌅 Sunset in Varenna Our final stop was romantic Varenna, with pastel buildings and a peaceful vibe. This is my third time visiting Milan, and I make a special trip to check in each time to relax and get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. In the town of Varenna, I find my inner self. 🌟Here, you can be surrounded by flowers, and you can also take a boat trip around Lake Como to admire the scenery of other surrounding towns. Bellagio and Menaggio are both super beautiful. At the same time, you can feel the splendor and beauty of Lake Como. 🌟There are many hiking routes in the Varenna area. You can choose a route that suits you, stroll along the lakeside or mountain trails, and enjoy the natural scenery and cultural landscape along the way. 🌟It is also recommended to visit museums such as the Varenna International Vintage Boat Museum to learn about local history and culture. The town retains many ancient buildings and historical sites. Castello di Vezio is worth visiting. This castle is located on the top of a mountain, and it is definitely worth taking the time to climb to the top and overlook the beautiful scenery of Varenna and Lake Como.

They are arguably the best places to visit on a day trip to Lake Como as they’re pretty easy to reach from the city. 📷 Whether you visit Lake Como for a day or stay longer, board a boat, relax and enjoy the view of the lake. 🚂Getting There - Taking the train from Milan is probably the easiest and fastest (yet still pretty affordable) way to get to Lake Como. Since there are no trains from Milan to Bellagio, it’s best to take a train from Milano Centrale to Varenna-Esina Station. From Varenna-Esina Station, you can walk to Lake Como and the town of Varenna in a few minutes. Varenna itself is a stunning little town, so definitely take some time to wander around and enjoy the views. If you want to continue your trip to visit the rest of the “Golden Triangle” of Lake Como (Bellagio and/or Menaggio), you can take a ferry ride from Varenna.

The city of Como is another destination that many families and couples dream of. The atmosphere with sunlight shining in the morning along with the cool breeze, who wouldn't want to come? Lake Como is a lake located in the Lombardy region, northern Italy. It is about 50 kilometers long and the deepest in Europe. It is shaped like an inverted Y, surrounded by beautiful mountains and hills. There are charming villages and small towns such as Como, Bellagio, Menaggio and Verenna. This lake has luxurious villas and is a vacation spot for celebrities. There are water activities such as boating, swimming, hiking and cycling on very beautiful routes. Traveling from Milan to Como takes about 1 hour. You can travel by Flexbus or train. We chose to travel by bus at a cost of almost 400 baht per leg. Walking around Como 📍Things to see and do🗺️ 1. Como Cathedral (Duomo di Como): A beautiful and historic Gothic cathedral 2. Piazza Cavour: The city's main square located on the lakeside, with many shops and cafes 3. Broletto: An old building that used to be the city's town hall, now used as an exhibition venue 4. Funicolare Como-Brunate: A cable car that takes you up to Brunate for a bird's-eye view of the lake and mountains 5. Villa Olmo: A neoclassical villa open to the public There is a beautiful garden and a view of the lake. 6. Basilica di Sant'Abbondio: A Romanesque church with interesting architecture and frescoes. 7. Passeggiata Lino Gelpi: A walking path along the lake where you can walk and enjoy the view and relax at various points. We arrived in Como early in the morning and saw the sunrise that illuminated the city in the morning. We spent about 3 hours in the city and then we took a boat to Menaggio. We had booked accommodation there. There are both buses and boats to get there. Bus and boat prices from Como to Menaggio I personally prefer to travel by boat because you can see the beauty of the lake and stop at every stop, but it may take longer than usual. Bus 🚌 Bus C10 or C30 Price: around 5-10 euros per trip Travel time: around 1 hour to 1.5 hours, depending on traffic and schedule Boat 🛥️ Ferry service by Navigazione Laghi: Price: around 10-15 euros per trip Travel time: around 1 hour to 1.5 hours, depending on the type of boat (regular boat or speedboat) 🚏 Must-sees in Menaggio 1.
