FUN DAY @ MIAMI SEAQUARIUM.
Founded in 1955, it is one of the oldest oceanariums in the United States. In addition to marine mammals, the Miami Seaquarium houses fish, sharks, sea turtles, birds, and reptiles. The park offers daily presentations and hosts overnight camps, events for boy scouts, and group programs. Over 500,000 people visit the facility annually. The park has around 225 employees, and its lease payments and taxes make it the third-largest contributor to Miami-Dade County's revenue.

A COZY BISTRO WITH GOOD FOOD
Great experience.
Food was fresh, delicious, and well plated! Very large portions, definitely shareable.
We went at 2:30pm on a Saturday and we had no wait.
All staff were very attentive and friendly.
We ordered the Burrata Avocado Toast with smoked salmon, Blueberry Cream Pancakes, Waffles with fruit and bacon, strawberry lemonade, and champagne fruit popsicle mimosa.
Everything was amazing! So tasty! We will definitely be back!

"The Floating City of Fun and Freedom"
#cruiseholiday
Norwegian Breakaway Cruise:
Our experience aboard the Norwegian Breakaway was fantastic! The ship is modern, stylish, and packed with things to do — from Broadway-style shows to waterslides and relaxing spa services. The dining options were diverse and delicious, especially the specialty restaurants.
Our stateroom was comfortable with great service from the crew throughout the journey.
We loved the lively atmosphere on the top deck and the variety of shore excursions offered.
It’s perfect for both families and couples looking for a mix of fun and relaxation."

"Carnival Miracle: The Ship That’s Like a Funky Theme Park (With Unlimited Cake)" 🎢🍰🚢
#cruiseholiday
Hold onto your stretchy pants, because Carnival Miracle isn’t just a cruise—it’s a floating funhouse where the decor is wild, the desserts are endless, and the party never stops. I just got back, and my sweet tooth is still recovering. Here’s the scoop:
First Impressions:
Stepping into the Atrium felt like walking into a Tim Burton movie—purple glass elevators, giant grape-themed decor (yes, really), and the smell of Nick & Nora’s steakhouse 🥩 mixing with fresh-baked cookies from the coffee shop. The vibe? “Weird is wonderful.”
The “This Ship is Bonkers (In the Best Way)” Moment:
Frankenstein’s Lab nightclub—a spooky dance cave with glowing cocktails and DJs spinning until 3 AM. But the real hidden gem? Alchemy Bar’s “Forty Is the New Twenty” cocktail (ask for it—it’s not on the menu!). 🍸
Foodie Glory:
Nick & Nora’s molten chocolate cake ruined me for all other desserts. But the *24-hour* Pizza Pirate’s pepperoni? A drunken masterpiece. 🍕
My “No Rules, Just Fun” Itinerary:
⏰ 8 AM: Seaday Brunch with huevos rancheros (spicy start!).
⏰ 12 PM: WaterWorks slides (screamed like a kid again).
⏰ 4 PM: Serenity Deck nap (with a Miami Vice in hand).
⏰ 8 PM: Mad Hatter’s Ball dinner (Alice in Wonderland chaos).
⏰ 12 AM: Piano Bar sing-along (Bohemian Rhapsody = mandatory).
Pro Tip:
Ride the Green Thunder slide at sunset—you’ll drop 10 stories with ocean views! Also, Swirls soft serve is dangerously unlimited. 🍦
Final Verdict: 15/10, left sugar-high, slightly sunburnt, and already missing the weirdness. Who’s in? 🎉

"Carnival Celebration: Where the Party Never Stops (And Neither Do the Buffet Plates)" 🎉🍗🚢
#cruiseholiday
Hold onto your party hats, because Carnival Celebration isn’t just a cruise—it’s a floating festival where the fun is bigger, louder, and saucier than your wildest vacation dreams. I just got back, and my Fitbit thinks I’ve been training for the Olympics. Here’s the inside scoop:
First Impressions:
Stepping into Celebration Central felt like walking into Mardi Gras meets Times Square—glittering LED arches, live DJs dropping beats, and the smell of Emeril’s Bistro’s Cajun spices 🌶️ mixing with fresh-baked pizza from Pizzeria del Capitano. The energy? “Sleep when you’re dead!”
The “Carnival Built WHAT at Sea?!” Moment:
BOLT: Ultimate Sea Coaster—the first-ever rollercoaster on a ship where I hit 40 mph while screaming like a banshee. 🎢 But the real hidden gem? Latitudes Bar’s spicy mango margarita (ask for the “secret menu”).
Foodie Heaven:
Rudi’s Seagrill’s lobster thermidor ruined me for all other seafood. But the Street Eats midnight Cubano sandwich? A drunken masterpiece. 🥪
My “No Chill, All Thrill” Itinerary:
⏰ 8 AM: BlueIguana Cantina breakfast burrito (hangover cure).
⏰ 12 PM: WaterWorks slides (drenched in 3 seconds flat).
⏰ 4 PM: Serenity Adult-Only Retreat nap (with a Miami Vice cocktail).
⏰ 8 PM: Bonsai Teppanyaki dinner (chefs flipping shrimp into my mouth).
⏰ 12 AM: The Golden Jubilee dance party (moves so bad they’re legendary).
Pro Tip:
Book BOLT at sunset—you’ll race over golden ocean views. Also, Shake Spot’s Nutella milkshake is a sinful must-try. 🍨
Final Verdict: 100/10, left exhausted, overfed, and already stalking Carnival’s next sale. Who’s ready to celebrate with me? 🎊

A Perfect Escape: My Norwegian Cruise Line Adventure
#cruiseholiday
Cruising with Norwegian Cruise Line was an incredible experience from beginning to end. The ship was modern, spotless, and filled with energy. I loved the flexibility of freestyle cruising — dining when and where I wanted, with endless options from fine dining to casual bites. Days were spent exploring exciting ports or relaxing by the pool with a drink in hand. The entertainment onboard was top-notch, especially the live shows and music performances every night. The staff went above and beyond to make the experience feel special, always greeting me with a smile. Whether I was watching the sunset from the deck or enjoying a spa day at sea, every moment felt like pure vacation bliss. I can’t wait to return!

"Symphony of the Seas: A Floating Party (With Zero Chill)" 🎉🚢🔥
#cruiseholiday
Okay, Symphony didn’t just raise the bar—it threw it overboard and replaced it with a trapeze. This ship is Harmony’s flashier, louder, and somehow even more extra sibling. Here’s the rundown:
First Impressions:
Walking into the Royal Promenade felt like stepping into a Vegas nightclub—glittering lights, live DJs, and the smell of fresh-baked cookies (shoutout to Café Promenade 🍪) mixed with saltwater breeze. The vibe? "We party at sea."
The "This Can’t Be Real" Moment:
Hiro, the aqua show. Acrobats diving from the freakin’ sky, synchronized swimmers, and a soundtrack that gave me chills. But the real hidden gem? El Loco Fresh’s breakfast burritos. 🌯 Nobody talks about them, but everyone should.
Foodie Heaven:
Hook’s Seafood had me eating lobster rolls like they were going out of style. 🦞 But the late-night hot dogs at Boardwalk Dog House? A drunk masterpiece. (No shame.)
My "No Sleep, Just Yes" Itinerary:
⏰ 8 AM: Espresso martini at the Rising Tide Bar (vacation starts now).
⏰ 12 PM: Ultimate Abyss slide (face still stuck in scream mode).
⏰ 3 PM: Bionic Bar robot-made cocktails (because future).
⏰ 7 PM: Hairspray sing-along (Tracy Turnblad = icon).
⏰ 11 PM: Battle for the Planet glow party (danced until my feet gave up).
Pro Tip:
The Solarium at night is empty—stargazing + hot tub = perfection. Also, Flight is the coolest show you’ve never heard of (it’s like Soarin’ but with cocktails).
Final Verdict: 15/10, left exhausted but already stalking Royal Caribbean’s sale emails. Who’s coming with me next time? 😏

Sailing in Style: My Experience Onboard Norwegian Cruise Line
#cruiseholiday
My journey with Norwegian Cruise Line was an incredible mix of adventure and relaxation. The ship was beautifully designed, with plenty of open spaces to enjoy ocean views. I loved the freestyle dining concept — no fixed times or dress codes, just delicious meals whenever I wanted. Activities were endless, from live Broadway-style shows to thrilling water slides. The crew was consistently friendly and attentive, making me feel truly welcome. Exploring ports during the day and returning to luxury each evening felt like the perfect balance. It was a memorable escape, and I’m already dreaming of my next cruise!

Alaskan Dreams Afloat: My Voyage on Norwegian Encore
#cruiseholiday
Sailing aboard the Norwegian Encore to Alaska was unforgettable. The ship itself felt like a floating resort — sleek, vibrant, and packed with activities. I loved waking up to breathtaking glacier views right from my balcony. Dining was a highlight, especially the specialty restaurants offering everything from sushi to steaks. Shore excursions in Juneau and Ketchikan brought me close to nature’s wonders, from whale watching to misty rainforests. Onboard, I spent hours enjoying the Observation Lounge, sipping coffee while watching rugged coastlines drift by. The service was warm and attentive, making the journey feel both adventurous and luxurious.

🚢 Icon of the Seas Review: A First Look from an Asian Traveler’s Perspective (Florida Departure) 🌏
#cruiseholiday
As an Asian traveler flying all the way to Miami, Florida, to board Royal Caribbean’s Icon of the Seas—the world’s largest cruise ship—I had big expectations. Was it worth the long-haul flight? Absolutely. Here’s my honest take, tailored for fellow Asian cruisers!
✨ FIRST IMPRESSIONS (Asian-Friendly?)
✅ Tech-Savvy: App-controlled everything—from cabin lights to activity bookings (very Seoul/Tokyo vibes).
✅ Food Diversity: Asian cuisine available (think: decent sushi, stir-fry, and congee), but…
⚠️ Spice Warning: Flavors are mild—pack your own chili flakes if you like heat! 🌶️
✅ Clean & Modern: Spotless cabins (like a K-beauty clinic at sea) and bidets in suites (Japanese-approved!).
🌴 ITINERARY HIGHLIGHTS (Caribbean from Miami)
Day 1: Sailaway party (DJs, fireworks, and many Westerners dancing awkwardly).
Day 2: Perfect Day at CocoCay (private island with a floating Asian food stall—finally, bao buns!).
Day 3: Nassau, Bahamas (skip the touristy port—book a resort day pass instead).
Day 4-7: At-sea days = non-stop activities (or napping—no judgment).
🍽️ FOOD REVIEW (Asian Taste Test)
✔️ Included Options:
Windjammer Buffet: Congee + dim sum at breakfast (solid 7/10).
Main Dining Room: Miso-glazed salmon (better than expected!).
❌ Misses: "Thai curry" was not Thai (more like yellow soup).
💡 Pro Tip: Pre-book Izumi Hibachi for legit teppanyaki (extra cost but worth it).
🎉 ENTERTAINMENT (Culture Shock Highlights)
Must-Do: AquaTheater shows (acrobatics > Broadway).
Weird but Fun: Karaoke nights—dominated by Americans singing Bon Jovi (bring your own C-pop/J-pop tracks!).
Hidden Gem: Silent disco with some K-pop/Bollywood mixes (request more!).
💰 TIPS FOR ASIAN TRAVELERS
✔️ Fly Early: Arrive 2 days pre-cruise to adjust to Miami time (jet lag is real!).
✔️ Pack: Instant noodles (for late-night cravings), slippers (cabins are shoeless-friendly), and a portable fan (Florida is HOT).
✔️ Wi-Fi: Buy VOOM Surf early—it’s pricey but essential for WhatsApp/LINE.
👍 FINAL VERDICT
✅ Worth It For: Families or groups wanting next-level ship thrills.
❌ Not Ideal For: Solo travelers seeking quiet luxury (this ship is loud).
🌟 Asian-Friendly Score: 8/10 (minus points for weak spice game).
Would I sail again? "Iconic? Yes. But next time, I’m smuggling sambal." 😉

Miami Seaquarium
The dolphin and orca performances were impressive. However, overall, it felt like the prices were excessively high. I participated in the Dolphin Odyssey, and despite the participation fee being close to $240 including tax, I had to purchase a few printed photos and photo files for $95 (excluding the photobook package). There are few sea lions and seals. The aquarium has a limited variety of fish, and the surfaces are scratched, making it hard to see clearly, but the central dolphin main tank compensates for this drawback. The staff were all friendly.
It's a nice smallish place to take the family for a couple of hours. The exhibits are well put together and there are tons of shows to see and interactive events for the kids to be involved in. It's mostly outdoor but they do have a nice inside exhibit containing a huge tank with a nurse shark and giant eel which is centered around the dolphin enclosure.

Miami Florida 🏙️
#chillandthrill
Miami, Florida, was an unforgettable blend of sunshine, beaches, and vibrant energy! 🌴☀️ I spent most of my time at South Beach, soaking up the sun and admiring the iconic Art Deco architecture. The beach is free, but renting a sunbed and umbrella costs about $20, which is perfect for a full day of relaxing. 🏖️
I also explored the colorful Wynwood Walls, an open-air street art museum. Entry was $12, and the murals were absolutely stunning—a must-see for art lovers! 🎨 Afterward, I strolled through Little Havana, enjoying Cuban coffee and live music at Domino Park. 🥤🎶
Nearby attractions include Biscayne Bay for boat tours and the Pérez Art Museum Miami ($16), which offered a mix of culture and scenic views. Miami’s vibrant nightlife, diverse food, and endless sunshine make it a top destination.

Theme park fun and alligators
After starting off my Disney journey at Tokyo Disney in January 2024 and continuing with Disneyland Paris half a year later, I had been dreaming of ticking off Disney World in Florida! ✨
After booking the most spontaneous trip to Florida just days before our departure, we quickly settled on at least visiting Magic Kingdom and the Universal Studios as we love rollercoasters.
Now, I will say that in terms of rides, Islands of Adventure at Universal definitely takes the crown but we ended up going on the Monday right after the holiday break, which unfortunately turned out to be the busiest day of that week :/ Nonetheless, amazing rollercoasters! For me as a big Potterhead, getting to see the Hogwarts Castle and Hogsmeade was a definite highlight as well as Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure despite the long wait times. In terms of thrilling rides both the Incredible Hulk Coaster and VelociCoaster are a must!
We did Dr Doom's Fearfall a couple of times as the wait times were relatively short (10 minutes). Beautiful view over the park especially at night-time
If you decide to go on Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls be warned that you will definitely get wet - and not just a little! 🌊
Magic Kingdom was a more family-friendly alternative with all of the standard rides that you know and love. The new Tiana's Bayou Adventure ride was a beautiful experience with great views, music and a less wet but still splashy experience!
In terms of merchandise I had high hopes for MK but I think after having experienced the extraordinarily cute and unique merchandise in Tokyo, the US merch just didn't excite me as much especially not for the incredibly high prices :/
The fireworks were breathtaking and everything I had hoped for if not better! 🎆Beautiful soundtrack and I loved Tinkerbell flying above our heads!
If you are looking to take a break from theme parks for a day, I can highly recommend visiting the little community of Winter Park. They have some cute cafés, art galleries, little shops and a particularly well-organised and unique book shop. Unfortunately, we weren't there for the Sunday markets but I've heard good things about them as well.
Given that we were flying in and out of Miami, we also took a day trip into Everglades National Park for a little walk starting from the Shark Valley visitor centre. The entrance fee was 30USD for us as we entered by car. If you don't feel like walking you can either rent bikes or hop onto their little tram, which will take you all the way to the observation tower and back. We encountered about 26 alligators🐊 within the first 4km of our walk but then decided to turn around as the parking lot closes at 6pm. All in all it's a nice walk but the scenery does get a little repetitive, which is why spotting the different wildlife is super fun!
Obviously, we couldn't leave Miami without also stopping by Miami Beach. Just like expected it was very touristy but the beach itself actually wasn't that busy so we opted to walk along the shore for a bit. Lots of restaurants to choose from and we did pass by a drag show on our way back to the car :)) 🌈
All in all, a perfect break from Europe's cold January though admittedly, Florida's 3°C at night and 12°C on some days weren't much better during our week there :))

[Miami] Watching MLB at Loan Depot Park⚾️
🇺🇸Miami, United States
📍Loan Depot Park
⚾️Miami Marlins VS San Diego Padres
My long-awaited big league game in the US!
I went to watch a Miami Marlins game, based in Miami📣
The opposing team was the San Diego Padres, which includes Yu Darvish and Matsui Yuki!
I got a seat right in front of the ground on the first base side, so it was very exciting!
There were fewer people than in the stadiums in Los Angeles, and it was a dome stadium, so it wasn't affected by the weather!
