#2024TravelReview Visiting the famous Taoist mountain #Sanqingshan was also the highlight of this trip to Jiangxi. Sanqing Mountain is located in Jiangxi Province. It is the collective name of the three peaks of Yujing, Yuhua and Yuxu. It is named because the three peaks are steep and towering, like the Three Pure Ones sitting and lying on the top. It is known as the first fairy peak in Jiangnan. In order to facilitate entry and exit of Sanqing Mountain, we chose to stay at the Hilton Hotel at the entrance of the scenic area and embarked on a two-day hiking route in Sanqing Mountain. Fortunately, the weather was good in the morning, so I could see the beauty of this fairy mountain in the fog. On the first day, we took the cable car from the Jinsha Visitor Center up the mountain, passing the Giant Python Coming Out of the Mountain, Yitiantian, Yutai and Sunshine Coast scenic areas. On the second day, we watched the sunrise from Yutai in Nanqing Garden, then went to the West Coast Scenic Area and Sanqing Blessed Land. After returning to Nanqing Garden Scenic Area, we went down the mountain from Waishuangxi Cableway. There are two high mountain plank roads surrounding Sanqing Mountain, one is the Sunshine Coast and the other is the West Coast. The plank roads built on cliffs have superb scenery and you can enjoy the strange peaks and rocks along the way. The landform is somewhat similar to that of Huangshan, but the stepped plank roads are much easier to walk than those of Huangshan. Because of its towering terrain, Sanqing Mountain is shrouded in clouds and mist all year round. If you want to see the true appearance of this fairy mountain and blessed land, you have to try your luck and pray for good weather. Our trip was a great explosion of luck. It is a sacred Taoist mountain in Chinese culture with the three peaks representing the Three Pure Ones who are the highest ‘gods’ in the Taoist belief. It is a huge Scenic Area located in the west side of the Sanqing Mountain at 1600 meters above sea level. This area goes from Liuxia Terrace to Sanqingfudi and is about 4 kilometers. Most of the walkway is a plank road attached along the cliff (the sightseeing information board says that is the highest and longest in the world!). They really did a great job considering that without this plank road would have been impossible to visit those mountains. The road is very safe and is not scary, it is built by concrete with solid metal bars on the side. This area is has many beautiful granite peaks with different shape, and here can see the sunset. Not to mention that been at the west side of the mountain and higher than the nearby mountains the view span for kilometers and kilometers, I could even see the snow in mountains far away! Amazing Mountain in Jiangxi Province! How to get there? I did take High Sped Train from Shanghai Hongqiao to YushanNan South (玉山南) 2h:31 214 CNY - than public Bus N.6 to Yushan Bus Station 20min 2 CNY - followed by a tourist Bus to To South Gate 1h:20 15 CNY (Southern Cable Car 三清山索道外双溪站) - get the Entrance Ticket and go up by Ropeway (15min) 190 CNY I strongly suggest to sleep at the mountain top. I spend 4 nights at the top and I was able to explore the entire mountain areas appreciating every single spot. The place is huge and is a must to visit it in more than a day. At the top there are few accommodations, that they also do cook for guests.

Recently we were in Shangrao, Jiangxi province for a weekend hike in Sanqingshan mountain and it was really cool! The road from Shanghai to the Hilton Sanqingshan Resort in the mountains took about 5 hours (it was a subway in Shanghai, a high-speed train and a taxi to the hotel) on the second day we began to climb the mountain at 8.30 am - 20 minutes by funicular/cableway and then until 6 pm to hike completely route. I'll tell you it was cool! We caught all types of weather - sun, fog and rain! At the top there are a lot of points of attraction and super landscapes – including Sanqing Palace (old and fully functional temple), you can eat and relax, but I recommend taking a light snack and water with you, since there are not sales points in all areas. 100% recommendation if you are a mountain fan or just want to spend the weekend in an unusual setting. #naturalwonders#hiking#nationalpark

After driving for an hour from Shangrao Sanqingshan to Wangxiangu, here are some honest and practical suggestions. Before you go, make sure to do your research. Here are some personal insights: 1. Which one to visit? Nearby Wunvzhou, Gexiancun, and Wangxiangu are all man-made attractions, mainly featuring night lights with different styles. Wunvzhou has more performances, Gexiancun seems to have dragon dances, and Wangxiangu has beautiful lighting. Choose based on your preference; I personally like Wangxiangu's style. 2. Is it worth visiting? For me, it was worth it. I was attracted by the architectural layout, and the real scene is not much different from the online photos. It's worth it if you can take good photos. There are many tour groups, so choose to go during the off-season to enhance your experience. 3. Visiting time: Once you exit with a ticket, you can't re-enter. You can enter around 3 PM; the core area is a bit far from the entrance. Arrive at the core area around 5 PM to see the sunset and night view.
