🇨🇦Aurora Explosion in Toronto | Finally Chasing the Lights Successfully
I have been to Canada since 2016, and this year is my eighth year. I went to Yellowknife for three days and visited the Dark Sky Reserve at least three times. I also went to various places around Toronto to watch the stars, such as North Bay, Port Perry, Wicklow Beach, etc. Finally, I saw the first aurora in my life on May 10, 2024.
Because I failed to chase the light before, and I was busy these days, I didn’t pay much attention to the prediction of the aurora explosion on xhs a few days ago. I thought I would never see the aurora in this life. Unexpectedly! After get off work, my good sister @🍡团子🍡 asked me if I wanted to see the aurora. The aurora sentiment that was almost extinguished was ignited again, so I left within half an hour.
Originally, I planned to go to the Dark Sky Reserve, but the navigation showed that there was a traffic jam all the way, and it would take nearly an hour to get from Gravenhurst to the Dark Sky Reserve. At that time, the aurora was already very obvious on the highway, so I immediately decided to turn to a small road and stop to watch it first.
Later, we drove to a pier facing north by Lake Muskoka by accident, and saw the most beautiful aurora for the first time in my life! It was the peak period at that time, and the KPI was directly raised to level 8. The aurora was visible to the naked eye in green or even purple. If you look closely, you can see the aurora flickering and jumping. The aurora above my head was like a waterfall. For the first time, I experienced the meaning of the word pouring down with my own eyes.
This year's astronomical events are so concentrated. First, there was a total solar eclipse, and then there was a big aurora explosion. Will there be a meteor shower next?
