We had such a pleasant time in Nagarkot and the surrounding area on the outskirts of Kathmandu Valley… we absolutely loved the tranquility and calmness of this town and its people. If you are blessed with a sunny or foggy morning and early riser, especially in late October to November, hire a driver and wake up before the sunrise and drive onto the windy road up the hill to Nagarkot, be patience and waiting for the sun to arise, you surely will be blessed with the incredible view of changing hue and colour and the far awat Himalaya range appears like a diamond before you. absolutely, this is one of the best moments here in Kathmandu

Though I didn’t catch the sunrise, my time in Nagarkot was still magical. I loved the peaceful walk through the woods, with clouds drifting around me. A little temple on the way was very special. It’s a beautiful escape into nature just an hour drive from the bustling Kathmandu.

After researching several hotels in Nagarkot, we finally decided to stay for 2 nights in Soaltee Westend Resort. It is hands-down the best hotel in Nagarkot. Nestled in the breathtaking hills of Nagarkot, it has splendid views of the mountains and if you're lucky, you will get to see the Himalayas mountain range on a clear day. What stood out most for us was the impeccable and uncomplaining service by the staff. They were always friendly, polite and quick to attend to your needs.
