This place is close to Magome. Originally I planned to take bus to Tsumago, but the bus did not come frequently. I needed to wait for 2 hours for a bus, so finally I hiked from Magome and walked for around 3 hours to this place. The scenery along the way is beautiful, especially the waterfalls. Tsumago also has ancient vibe, has some museums and exhibition halls. Even the post office has historical displays.

The reason it has been preserved in this way is because activities have been carried out centering on "not selling, renting, or destroying" houses and land... One is electric poles. They do not exist in the townscape. Vehicles are prohibited from entering the area from 10am to 4pm during the day, so you will not see any cars. A brown color that matches the scenery was used. If you're taking the bus from Magome-juku, remember to check the bus schedule. There's only one bus every two hours or so, and it stops running early. Basically, there's no one around, and even the shops are closed. However, the night view is beautiful with lots of stars and hardly any lights. You can take a stroll outside. The place to stay is a guesthouse where you sleep on tatami mats, and both dinner and breakfast are included. It's nice but a bit pricey.
