Mandala Yuen / Tateyama Museum
This outdoor facility is like a theme park or a museum, and is located in Tateyama, Toyama Prefecture, where you can experience hell and paradise.
It is a space inspired by the Pure Land of the Tateyama Mandala.
From the Corridor of Heaven, you can pass through the Celestial Cave and the Celestial Music Cave to reach the Tenshikai and the Heavenly World.
Go around the Earthly World → Sunny Path → Heavenly World → Dark Path.
[Earthly World]
This is the starting point of the Mandala Amusement Park.
Various features such as the Enma Hall, the Hungry Ghost Needle Mountain, and the Spirit Bridge give you a sense of the terrifying hell of the Tateyama Mandala.
[Sunny Path]
After leaving the Earthly World, the path to Heaven, where you will be welcomed by the nature of Tateyama, begins.
There is a route called the "Tateyama Climbing Path" that allows you to experience a simulated Tateyama worship experience, and a "Waterside Path" route where you can feel the richness of nature while listening to the chirps of the birds and the rustling of the trees.
[Heaven]
This space is modeled after the Pure Land of the Tateyama Mandala.
From the Corridor of Heaven, you pass through the Celestial Cave and the Celestial Music Cave before arriving at Tenshikai and the Celestial Realm.
*Seven artists have created their own images of heaven in the small cave.
[Path of Darkness]
This is modeled after the Nunobashi Kanjo-e ceremony of the Tateyama Mandala.
This is the path from heaven back to the real world, and the dark, undulating tunnel is a place of experience that engages the five senses to the fullest.

Murodo-daira
#thingstodo This place is the must visit place in Japan. We were there in April , the second day after opening. Many tourists were there. The snow wall was tall from the bus view but we didn't walk there because it was too crowded. So we decided to take trek around the station instead. Make sure you are well prepared with winter gear since the snow is deep. The north face shop at the station offers a reasonable price with good quality trekking gear as well

Shōmyō Waterfall Observation Square
#thingstodo Beautiful place to appreciate the nature. The way the air is filled with water particles as you get closer to the waterfall is mesmerizing. On weekdays there aren’t usually that many people going there, but I’ve heard on weekends and holidays it gets a little bit crowded.
Something to keep in mind when going there: the parking lot is about 1.5km down the hill from the waterfall, so you’ll have about 20 minutes of uphill walking until the observation deck.

Tateyama Kurobe Snow Wall
#Japan #Kurobe Snow Wall #Kurobe The Tateyama Snow Wall is one of Toyama's most photogenic spots. Although the wall is only open to the public for a few months of the year, taking a bus along the 18-meter-high snow wall is a unique and massive snow-shoeing experience.
