#localescapes Welcome to Malico the mountain village of San Nicolas, Pangasinan. The village and its name are shared by the towns of San Nicolas in Pangasinan and the towns of Sta. Fe and Sta. Cruz Bagabag in Nueva Vizcaya. People go to Malico to enjoy the cold weather and the scenery. When we went there the weather was so unpredictable. As we were riding up, it was sunny and it suddenly changed into dark clouds. We wanted to enjoy the view more and ride more but we decided not to do it as we were afraid to get caught by the rain and the place is prone to landslide so we were kind of anxious. It's much better to come here during Summer so you don't need to worry about landslides or whatsoever. We would like to come back here again. And take note you don't need to pay for anything here. Malico, San Nicolas Did you know that there is a road that connects the provinces of Pangasinan and Nueva Vizcaya? It is called the Villa Verde Trail in Malico, San Nicolas, Pangasinan and Santa Fe, Nueva Vizcaya. It is also known as the Pangasinan - Nueva Vizcaya Road. This cuts the travel time by roughly an hour, instead of the usual route that is via Umingan - San Jose City Road. The road is breathtaking and scenic. The road also crosses the Caraballo Mountain Range.
