Nyingchi, a paradise hidden in the snowy plateau
🌸Linzhi, a paradise hidden in the snowy plateau
Today I want to share with you the treasure place I have fallen in love with recently - Linzhi! This place is simply the "Little Jiangnan" of Tibet, with both magnificent snow-capped mountains and romantic peach blossoms. It is so beautiful that you don't want to leave. Hurry up and take out your notebook to write down my super comprehensive travel guide to Nyingchi!
Transportation
When coming to Nyingchi, it is most convenient to take a direct flight. Nyingchi Milin Airport is near the city. After getting off the plane, the feeling of instantly stepping into the tranquil plateau from the bustling city is so addictive! If you take a train, the scenery along the way is also beautiful. The Qinghai-Tibet Railway goes through mountains and ridges, snow-capped mountains, grasslands, and lakes. It's like watching a super beautiful landscape movie. It just takes a little longer, so you can choose according to your preferences.
Accommodation
There are many accommodation options in Nyingchi, ranging from star-rated hotels to characteristic homestays. The homestay I stayed in this time was right next to the Niyang River. When I opened the window, I could see the river flowing quietly and the snow-capped mountains in the distance. Waking up in the morning, listening to the birds singing and smelling the flowers, this feeling was so healing! If you have enough budget, I recommend staying at the Linzhi Sheraton. It offers a five-star experience with great service. You can also soak in the hot springs in the room and look at the stars. It is simply too luxurious.
Itinerary
Day 1: Nyingchi City + Niyang River When you first arrive in Nyingchi, take a walk around the city to experience the customs and culture of the Tibetan people. Then we went to the Niyang River. This river is so beautiful. The water is emerald green, like a flowing emerald. The willow trees on the river bank sway in the wind, and there are many water birds playing. I sat by the river, looking at this picturesque scenery, and I felt healed. By the way, don’t forget to buy a cup of sweet tea by the Niyang River. It will be so comfortable to sit by the river, drink the sweet tea and bask in the sun.
Day 2: Lulang Forest + Lulang Town. We got up early and set out for Lulang Forest. The scenery along the way was beautiful. When I arrived at the Lulang Forest Sea, the scenery really shocked me. There were large tracts of virgin forests, lush and green, and snow-capped mountains quietly guarding in the distance. It was as if I had walked into a fairy tale world. When in Lulang Forest Sea, you must take a walk in the forest, breathe the fresh air and feel the charm of nature. At noon, we went to Lulang Town, where the Lulang Stone Pot Chicken is very famous. It is stewed with local specialty chicken and Matsutake mushrooms. It tastes delicious and you will never forget it after eating it.
Day 3: Bomi Peach Blossom Valley + Laigu Glacier Bomi's Peach Blossom Valley is really the most beautiful place in Nyingchi. Every March and April, when the peach blossoms are in full bloom, the whole mountain is covered with pink peach blossoms. When the breeze blows, the petals fall, as if you are in a fairyland. I walked through the peach blossom forest, and every photo was as beautiful as a wallpaper, without any filter. After seeing the peach blossoms, I went to Laigu Glacier. The magnificence of the glacier really shocked me. The huge glacier extended from the top of the mountain. The texture of the glacier was clearly visible. Standing at the foot of the glacier, I felt so small.
Day 4: Mount Namjagbarwa Mount Namjagbarwa is the iconic attraction of Nyingchi and the fifteenth highest peak in the world. I had been looking forward to seeing its true appearance for several days in advance. That morning, I got up very early and arrived at the observation deck before sunrise. I waited and waited, and finally, the sun came out. The top of Mount Namjagbarwa was illuminated by the sunlight, shining with golden light. The beauty is really indescribable. I was so excited that I almost cried, and quickly picked up the camera to record this beautiful moment.
Food
The food in Nyingchi is also unique. In addition to the Lulang stone pot chicken mentioned above, there are also Tibetan noodles, barley cakes, and yogurt. Every bite is full of Tibetan flavor. I particularly like Tibetan noodles. The noodles are chewy and the soup is rich. It is a perfect match with some pickles.
Photography
In Nyingchi, any shot can be a blockbuster. When taking photos of peach blossoms, remember to wear light-colored clothes, which go perfectly with the pink peach blossoms; when taking photos of glaciers, use a wide-angle lens to capture the magnificence of the glaciers; when taking photos of Mount Nanga Bawa, be sure to go at sunrise or sunset, as the light is the most beautiful at that time.
