A healing travel course that you must walk in Jeju 🌿
A round of Jeju where you can meet the sea, forest, hills, and roads
Jeju is full of scenery that is too precious to just pass by. From a walk along the beach full of the scent of the sea to lush forests, dramatic cliffs, and highlands that touch the sky. This time, we will introduce a ‘half-day healing walking tour’ that connects Iho Tewoo Beach to Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak, a one-day course full of Jeju sensibility.
🐴 Iho Tewoo Beach – Jeju sensibility starting from the red horse lighthouse on the sea
Location: Iho-il-dong, Jeju-si
Features: Red and white horse-shaped lighthouse, sunset spot, seaside promenade
The leisure of Jeju begins at Iho Tewoo Beach in the morning. The red horse lighthouse standing on the breakwater extending into the sea is the only photo zone. As you walk while listening to the sound of the waves and the cries of seagulls, you will feel your mind clearing.
There are quiet cafes next to the beach, perfect for enjoying the morning scenery with a cup of warm latte.
🚶 Part of Olle Trail Course 7 - Walking on a Jeju-style road
Recommended section: Oedolgae ~ Wolpyeong Port (approximately 2.5 km)
Features: Coastal cliffs, Mongdol Beach, dirt road good for walking
Part of Olle Trail Course 7, which can be reached by driving for about 40 minutes from Ihoteu. The coastal road with rough waves and black basalt rocks is enough to feel the 'real Jeju'. Most of the road is flat and well-maintained, so anyone of any age or gender can walk without difficulty.
As you walk along the road, small stone towers, reed fields, and unnamed wild flowers will greet you, giving you a quiet time in nature.
🌊 Jungmun Columnar Joint Trail – Art created by lava, walking on the cliff
Location: Jungmun Tourist Road, Seogwipo-si
Opening hours: 09:00 – 18:00
Admission: 2,000 won
Columnar joints, vertical cliffs created by lava thousands of years ago. When you get close, the sound and scenery of the waves crashing down the cliffs are literally like ‘nature’s performance’. The trail is short, but it leaves a strong impression, and it is also an excellent place to take pictures.
Especially on rainy days, the mist rises on the cliffs, creating an even more mysterious atmosphere.
🍴 Cheonjiyeon Rest Stop – Taste the real local sensibility
Location: 288 Chilsimni-ro, Seogwipo-si
Opening hours: 08:00 – 20:00
Recommended menu: Body soup, seafood ramen, abalone porridge
If you want to fill your stomach while on the move, stop by ‘Cheonjiyeon Rest Stop’ which is on a whole other level than the usual rest stops. You can easily enjoy traditional Jeju food, and the view outside is great, so it’s a great place to take a leisurely rest.
In particular, the seafood ramen is generous with Jeju seafood, so the broth tastes amazing. It’s a hidden restaurant recommended by locals.
🌲 1100 Hill – Drive in the clouds where the forest and the sky meet
Location: 1100 Road (Jeju City ↔ Seogwipo Connection Road)
Features: Foggy forest path, observatory, Hallasan foothills
As the elevation increases, the temperature drops, and the surrounding scenery gradually changes into a deeper forest. 1100 Hill is the highest road in Jeju, and on foggy days, it feels like you're driving through the clouds. You can park your car at the observatory in the middle and take a walk in the forest.
This is a must-visit course if you want to get away from the city and stay in silence for a while.
🌄 Seongsan Ilchulbong - Seongsan is also beautiful at sunset
Location: Seongsan-eup, Seogwipo-si
Opening hours: 07:00 - 20:00
Admission fee: 2,000 won
Seongsan Ilchulbong is famous for its sunrise, but it's actually really beautiful at sunset too. With its huge crater and green meadows, this is one of the best spots to see Jeju's great nature.
Even if it's difficult to climb to the top, you can enjoy a wide-open ocean view just by climbing halfway up, and you can have a satisfying time just by walking along the trails built at the bottom.
