Moc Chau
Moc Chau, located in the southeastern part of Son La Province, borders Tho Bac and Mai Chau districts of Hoa Binh Province to the east, Bac Yen and Yen Chau districts to the west, Laos, Muong Lat and Quan Hoa districts of Thanh Hoa Province to the south, and Phu Yen district across the river to the north.
Moc Chau has many attractions worth visiting. Here are some of the main attractions:
Natural Landscapes
- Moc Chau Plateau: A famous scenic spot in northwest Vietnam, featuring vast grasslands, verdant tea hills, clear lakes, and lush forests. The climate here is cool and pleasant, with distinct scenery in each season. Spring brings blooming plum and peach blossoms, summer is full of greenery, autumn sees persimmon trees laden with fruit, and winter offers golden rapeseed and sunflower fields.
- Dai Yem Waterfall: With a drop of over 100 meters, the waterfall is divided into two sections. The upper section is over 70 meters wide and has nine tiers, while the lower section is about 200 meters from the upper section and has five tiers. The open space around the waterfall is ideal for camping and picnics.
- Ban Ang Pine Forest: Located in Ang village, this forest covers over 43 hectares and features a natural lake, flowers, and various pine trees. Visitors can enjoy cycling, boating, camping, experiencing ethnic minority culture, and tasting local specialties.
Agricultural Tourism
- Moc Chau Tea Plantations: Moc Chau is an important tea-producing area in Vietnam. The vast tea plantations form a spectacular green sea. Visitors can stroll through the tea fields, observe the tea picking and production process, and savor the fresh and aromatic Moc Chau tea.
- Na Ka Plum Garden: From January to February, plum blossoms bloom, covering the hillsides in a blanket of white. From May to June, plums ripen, and visitors can pick them in the garden, experiencing the joy of harvest.
Leisure and Entertainment
- Bach Long Glass Bridge: One of the longest glass bridges in the world, it spans approximately 500 meters and reaches a height of 150 meters, connecting two mountain peaks. Standing on the bridge, visitors can enjoy breathtaking views of the Moc Chau Plateau.
- Moc Chau Tourist Town: This town integrates accommodation, dining, shopping, and entertainment, offering various styles of homestays and hotels. Visitors can relax, purchase unique souvenirs, and enjoy a leisurely time.
