Kannon-do Hall is located at the tip of Cape Abuto. The Kannon-do Hall, standing on top of a cliff, is very beautiful. When you go up to the top of the Kannon-do Hall, it's like the world of Spirited Away. It's just amazing to be swayed by the pleasant breeze and look out at the Seto Inland Sea☺️ This is one of my favorite places out of all the temples and shrines I've been to so far🤍 I went there during a three-day weekend, and there weren't many people there, so it was a hidden gem! Why not stop by while you're driving to Onomichi? This place has also been famous for praying for safe childbirth since ancient times, and the votive plaques are actually breast votive plaques, which is quite unique. A small Kannon Shrine at the tip of the cape. Admission is 100 yen. Shoes are strictly prohibited inside the shrine grounds, so you must take them off before entering, but socks can make the wooden boards slippery. The fence is also very low, so be careful not to fall into the sea. At low tide the rocks are exposed, so if you fall you could be in danger. Looking down from the shrine grounds you can see that it is higher than it looks. I wonder if anyone has fallen off in the past. Its origins are unclear, but it seems that it is dedicated to breasts, in prayer for safe childbirth and abundant milk after childbirth.
