In the past, it was called Namhaengsan because it was a mountain that rose sharply toward the south, and the villagers also called it Akisan, Akisan, Ekesan, and Ekkisan. It forms the end of the Gwangju Mountain Range that branches off from Baekdudaegan. There are many legends about Ondal, such as the 3m diameter Gonggidol Rock that Ondal played with and the Ondal Spring, and it is said that Ondal died in battle at Achasanseong Fortress (Historic Site 234). It was a strategic point during the Three Kingdoms Period, and during the Goryeo Dynasty, many poets and scholars visited it along with Gwangnaru, and there were many temples such as Eunseoksa Temple, Beomgulsa Temple, and Yeonghwasa Temple. Until the mid-Joseon Dynasty, the area was developed only as a ranch, so there were few houses and the bushes were thick. Many wild animals such as tigers and wolves lived there, so it was used as a hunting ground for the king. After the modern era, houses were built up to the middle of the mountainside, and President Syngman Rhee's villa was built because of the excellent view. I went hiking on Mt. Acha to catch the last autumn foliage train on the weekend: As an office worker who avoids exercise... I went to Mt. Acha, which is easy to hike and feel like a walking trailㅎㅎ If you come up to Exit 2 of Mt. Acha Station on the weekend, you can see people in hiking clothes gathered like a meeting placeㅎㅎ Mt. Acha, which I visited at the end of October, was spectacular with the blue sky and beautifully colored autumn foliage... It was a great view... Achasan Goguryeojeong is a sunset restaurant that you can find after climbing for about 20 minutes. The path up is well-made with stairs, so even people with poor physical strength can climb without worry. As the title suggests, it is hard to tell whether it is a hiking trail in the mountains or a mountain within a hiking trail. Achasan is well-equipped with trail facilities and trail layout. There are three trail courses in total, so you can choose the course that suits your physical strength. The weather is nice, so it would be great to pack some kimbap sold at the bottom of Achasan and go to Achasan with your girlfriend or family to recharge your phytoncide. We walked the course from Achasan to Mangwoosan, and it took about 3 hours in total. It was a day where we, a couple who do not usually hike, could easily go and enjoy the fresh air and take our dog for a walk, so it was a day where we could kill two birds with one stone.
