We stayed near the main town of Naxos, which is full of lively cafes and shops. The best part? NAXOS ' TEMPLE OF APOLLO - PORTARA IS A HUGE MARBLE GATE AND THE SINGLE REMAINING PART OF AN UNFINISHED TEMPLE OF APOLLO OF 530 BC IS NAXOS' EMBLEM AND MAIN LANDMARK. STANDING ON THE ISLET OF PALATIA, AT THE ENTRANCE TO NAXOS HARBOUR IT COMPRISES FOUR MARBLE PARTS WEIGHING ABOUT 20 TONS EACH. #wecreate What a little gem! A beach front restaurant serving a great food & wine 🍷 We booked a table for 2 by the front with a view of sea- definitely needs to to book in advance. The food is not your usual Greek traditional it’s more like fine dining but affordable prices-in Naxos island restaurants are relatively cheaper then the near by islands such as Santorini and Mykonos. We had tuna ceviche for starter as well as a goat’s cheese salad, they were so tasty. For mains we had mixed seafood with langoustines and octopus dish which was excellent. 🦐 🐙 We had a fine white wine called Sheriff Farman and a desert with ice cream and a cheese cake lovely! Nomad Bear bar and restaurant is location on Naxos island, at Plaka Beach. This is a beautiful spot for the day, you can pre book sunbeds, this has to be done at least the day before as you can’t get sunbeds on the day. They have a great menu for lunch and cocktails. The staff are super friendly and always happy to help. The bus stops very close to the restaurant and to get back on the bus it is not far either. I went for the day and just had lunch and a few cocktails sat on the day sofas in the restaurant and it was so relaxed. When it comes to Greek islands, many people know of the tourist hotspots of Santorini and Mykonos. This time we arrived at Naxos, which is a 2-hour boat ride from Santorini. The famous attraction in Naxos is the Gate of Apollo, a marble frame on a small rocky hill on the coast, which was built by the king in 552 BC. There are not as many tourists as in Santorini, and the shops and houses on the streets are all pure white. There are many restaurants serving Greek and Italian food at very reasonable prices. This is the island of Dionysus… 🙌🏻 Located on a mountainside, 15 minutes by car from Naxos Port, opened in 2016, this small winery is the first and only wine tasting experience in Naxos✨ 🍷 Saint Ana Winery Wine Tasting Tour 💝 Includes: 5 premium wines + homemade platter Explore the vineyards behind the 9th-century church, Learn about the process of making different wines, and taste wine and platters in the 100-year-old house garden💕 Under the hot Naxos sun and sea breeze, and the wine made from Naxos grapes grown in fertile soil, and the platter made from organic olive oil and ingredients were just crazy delicious… 🥹🩵 So we finally took out our cards… ✨ With olive oil, wine, and Naxos liquor, both hands full… The price was ridiculously cheap👍🏻 The Italian couple sitting next to me ordered a whole box.. #EuropeanTravel #Greece #Naxos ⛰️ A ‘marble village’ located 600m above sea level, Apeiranthos This village, hidden in the mountains, is a 30-minute drive or 1-hour bus ride from Naxos Town, and is a secret place that was only discovered in the 15th century, where it is hard to find blog reviews even if you search Naver. 🤫 Donkeys carry luggage along the narrow, winding roads, and this maze-like place where you might get lost if you let your guard down is surprisingly our favorite village in Naxos👍🏻 Since it is a small village located on Mount Panari, it is a place that you can easily see around in half a day, so we stopped by for a drive in the morning and had lunch💕 🌟 The most delicious restaurant & cafe in Naxos ~ Mpakalogatos: Octopus dish + eggplant lasagna ~ Berdema Cafe: Tzatziki + Greek salad ~ Fabrica Cafe: Coffee shop run by neighborhood grandfathers 🍯 Visiting Apeiranthos Tips ✔️ Since the tour bus arrives around 12 o'clock, I recommend visiting in the morning ✔️ Make sure to eat at least one meal in this town (#1 in Naxos in my opinion) ✔️ Don't go too deep into the town when you're walking around (get lost) ✔️ Be careful driving at night because it can be dangerous on mountain roads ✔️ If you're confident in your driving, stop by Rotonda and watch the sunset ✔️ If you go to this town, you must buy Greek souvenirs here👇🏻 📍Apeiranthos Souvenir Shop Το Υπερώον Souvenirs made by Naxos craft artists Unique magnets made of Naxos marble, etc. Selling absolutely high-quality handicrafts and souvenirs✨ 👉🏻 Caution: Be careful of empty stomachs...
