Rating: One of the representatives of Chiayi turkey, Ah Hongshi is familiar with it. But this is my first time to eat at Ahongshi. Because every time I pass the Wenhua Road store, there is always a long queue. We chose this hotel on Zhongshan Road, which is about a 5-minute drive away from the downtown area of Chiayi.
First of all, the food prices are really impressive, a large bowl of turkey rice is 30 yuan and a small bowl is 25 yuan. Most soups are 15 yuan. Poached eggs are still priced at 10 yuan and side dishes are 30 yuan. In an era when prices keep rising, I don’t know how long it can last.
The taste of Ah Hong's turkey rice is due to the addition of fried onions. In addition to the chicken juice tank, there is also an extra layer of fried onions. Compared with the refreshing feeling of Guo's simple chicken sauce and seasoned soy sauce that we often eat on Wenhua Road, the taste is heavier. If you like the scent of oil, you will probably like it. It also tastes saltier and less sweet.
Personally, I like the 45 yuan chicken rice and oyster soup. The oily and heavy flavor complements the light fresh oyster soup. You must also have a soft-boiled egg. The egg juice can make the salty chicken slices rice smoother and add layers of texture to make the overall taste thicker.
The must-order side dishes are braised cabbage and braised eggs. I personally think the five-flavored octopus and large intestine are fine. If I didn’t love these two side dishes, I wouldn’t order them again in terms of taste.
Parking is inconvenient. It is recommended to park on the roadside before nearby stores open around 1-3 pm.
