. A place I definitely wanted to stop by in Yamaguchi Prefecture. I went to Akiyoshidai and Akiyoshido 🌿 . As one of the largest karst plateaus in Japan, the land is so vast as far as the eye can see! A place that makes you want to stop the car and take a deep breath 😊☀︎ . . After enjoying Akiyoshidai, we went to Akiyoshido. It was my first time to see such a huge limestone cave! . There was also an adventure course where you could climb the limestone cave in an athletic way. It was more thrilling and scary than I thought 😂 . The limestone cave is large, so it took about an hour and a half to go there and back? I was able to get rid of my lack of exercise 🚶‍♀️lol #photogenicspot

If you visit Yamaguchi Prefecture, you must definitely go to Akiyoshidai Quasi-National Park. The Akiyoshidai Observatory, located within the Akiyoshidai Quasi-National Park, is said to be the largest karst plateau in Japan. Limestone stretches across the highlands for about 8km, and this area is known as the Karst Road. When you actually visit, you can experience a magnificent landscape that cannot be fully captured in photos, making you feel as if you are not in Japan. There is also a cafe nearby where you can enjoy meals and coffee while overlooking the highlands. The starry sky at night was incredibly beautiful.

Highlights: Akiyoshidō cave is one of the largest limestone caves in the country. It is filled with geographically precious objects such as gigantic stalagmites, rimstones like terraced rice fields, and many others. The cave started forming a million years ago and you will be fascinated with the visible history of the earth. Enjoy it thoroughly by viewing and photographing. 🤩 You will walk through the cave comfortably as the temperature stays 17 ℃ throughout a year. You can go directly up to the Akiyoshidai Plateau from the elevator located in the middle of the cave. Highlights: Akiyoshidai Quasi-National Park is served by a natural history museum, visitor centre, rest house, youth hostel and park headquarters building, and is traversed by a scenic roadway and several walking trails. The plateau consists of uplifted reef limestones of Paleozoic age, which were thickened by overfolding during the Akiyoshidai orogenic movement. Subsequent erosion has created an undulating karst landscape dimpled with many dolines and countless limestone pinnacles up to two meters in height.
