Sharm El Sheikh | The City of Peace
This small city is known as "The City of Peace" because of the ceasefire agreements signed here by Israeli and Palestinian leaders.
The main street that runs through the center of Sharm El Sheikh is called "Peace Boulevard", and next to the Mario Hotel on the waterfront promenade, there are rows of eye-catching texts in English, Arabic, and other languages that read "Let there be peace in the whole world".
The Sahaba Mosque, located in the middle of the old market area, is also one of the classic check-in spots. Many people make a special trip here to take artistic photos or wedding pictures. It covers an area of about three kilometers, with a unique architectural style that blends ancient, luxurious, and historical elements.
It overlooks the Red Sea coast, with a mountain behind it, as if it has stepped out of the ancient tales of "One Thousand and One Nights". The inspiration for the mosque's copper-colored dome comes from the Muhammad Ali Mosque in the castle named after Muhammad Ali in Cairo.
In a country where Islam is the state religion, the existence of this church demonstrates Egypt's respect for religious diversity. It is not only the spiritual home of the local Christian community but also a window for tourists visiting this seaside paradise to experience religious culture!
