Historic buildings
Alexanderplatz has been the commercial center of Berlin since the end of the nineteenth century. It has experienced the GDR era and the post-Cold War reunification era. Today, around Alexanderplatz, there are traditional and new department stores, as well as some stalls, which are very lively. There is a world clock in the square that shows the time all over the world at the same time in an ingenious way. On the square, the prominent landmark is the Berlin TV Tower, which was built in 1969 and is 368 meters high. You can climb the tower for sightseeing and also have a revolving restaurant. Behind the TV tower is the red-brick church of Our Lady, built in 1270. In the center of the garden next to the church is the Poseidon Fountain, and on the other side of the garden is the famous red city hall, which has been the seat of the Berlin City Hall since its completion in 1869. The red neo-Renaissance style is very beautiful. To the west of the red city hall is the old Nikolai district of Berlin. The old Nikolai Church is opposite the garden here. There is also a museum. If you are interested in the daily life in that period of history, you may wish to visit. Various department stores and shopping centers are also located in the square, and there are many small shops with different characteristics around the square.

Christmas in Berlin: An experience not to miss
Berlin comes alive with festive charm during Christmas, offering magical moments at every turn. The iconic Gendarmenmarkt transforms into a winter wonderland, with artisan stalls and gourmet treats set against the backdrop of the illuminated Konzerthaus. At Charlottenburg Palace, the baroque architecture glows with fairy lights, creating a dreamy setting for its sprawling market. Alexanderplatz and Potsdamer Platz buzz with holiday cheer, complete with ice-skating rinks and dazzling light displays. Whether you’re sipping glühwein under the Brandenburg Gate or exploring the twinkling stalls at Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church, Christmas in Berlin is an unforgettable celebration of joy and wonder.

Berlin city centre that appears on weather forecast
When you watch the global weather forecast, the TV programme often shows a certain place of a capital city - The Arch of Paris, Piccadilly Circus of London, and for Germany, the first picture shows where you see in Berlin.
It is nearest to the Alexanderplatz station on metro line U8. When there are major events of the city, it’s often in this area - festivals, local concerts, food fests, temporary theme parks… it’s a vibrant area where you can kill time easily!

The place is just a step from TV tower, Alexanderplatz

Saturn…Electronic mall in Berlin
Another interesting electronic mall in Berlin is Saturn. A large shopping mall in a center of Alexanderplatz. There are several floor that sale almost the same thing as Mediamarkt (to be honest)
Price is a little bit high but believe in German standard it is worth your money
Not far from this store is a train station just a step of walk! and there’s nice restaurant just in the ground floor with outdoor seats

Mediamarkt… Digital lovers’ platz
If you like digital or electronic stuffs, Mediamarkt is one of the place in Germany you shouldnt miss!
There are many location of it around the town. There’s one in Alexanderplatz Berlin , very close to the station.
Inside mediamarkt sell a lot of electronic stuffs such as cellphone, camera, battery, computer etc.
I would say that it is way less than those in Japan but it’s the best where u can find what you want in Germany
Also there’s an outlet for extra discount

Berlin's New Year's Eve: Funky and wild
Berlin on New Year's Eve? We did it all! We watched the mesmerizing fireworks at Brandenburg Gate and danced the night away at Alexanderplatz. We explored the lesser-known parties happening all around the city, and munched on delicious street food to soak up all that champagne. We made new friends and let loose, because on New Year's Eve in Berlin, everyone is in the same boat (or should I say party subway? Because ,yeah, subways are for partying that night) And let me tell you, it was a blast! If you ever have the chance to experience New Year's Eve in Berlin, don't miss it! It's truly a night to remember! #newyearadventure #NewYearsEve #Berlin #Fireworks #Party #Fun #Friendship #Memories
