The only hotel in Hangzhou where you can book a temple morning class is Aman Fayun. You can ask Aman Fayun to help you book a morning class at Yongfu Temple, but it's not guaranteed. You need to book three days in advance, and it depends on fate and the specific situation of the temple. The morning class starts at 5:30 am, and the hotel provides a shuttle bus to Yongfu Temple, which takes half an hour. If it's the first or fifteenth day of the lunar month, it takes an hour and a half. In this temple that is more than 1,600 years old, you can chant and pray with the master, and the countless worldly wishes in your mind will become calm in the Sanskrit. The spa was unreal, with an ensuite for every service (1 or 2 people). The spa is located next to the pool which had to be my favorite thing about staying there - the afternoon tea by the pool was amazing, delicious, and so cute. It wasn’t hard to feel comfortable or communicate because the majority of staff speaks English. The hotel has 6 places to eat, but I will say as someone who doesn’t eat meat it was a little hard to find options at the hotel but super easy to order food in! If you do eat meat, no problem, there are many options. Definitely recommend Amanfayun to anyone but especially anyone looking for a weekend away with family, a friend, or a loved one. We had a spontaneous moment on our last morning in Hangzhou! It is a beautiful ancient village with over 1000 year old history, its old houses with romantic rooms and courtyards are shaded alongside stone pathways leading up to the Lingyin Temple. 🙌🏻 The food was lush and the service was top notch, for those that don’t speak Mandarin, the staff also speaking English. We spent a few hours just relaxing, taking in the beautiful decor, enjoying the peace and background music, and of course took every bit advantage of the food! It’s the most we have ever, and probably will ever, spend on BREAKFAST, however we took it on the chin and accepted it as a happy experience to take away with us. This trip to Hangzhou was all about relaxing. I didn't want to be surrounded by people, I just wanted to chill at the hotel. The reviews of Amanfayun online are very mixed, so I booked a night to try it out. 👉🏻 Pros👇🏻 🌿 The environment is really nice. The air is super fresh. Who wouldn't love staying in a place surrounded by birds and flowers? When the sun comes out, the light and shadows are beautiful. 💁🏼‍♀️ The service is really attentive. You can always expect a warm greeting from the hotel staff. The room was full of New Year vibes. The room service was very responsive. Due to renovation restrictions, there was no bathtub in the room, but the spa center offers free baths. In the evening, hotel staff will come to your room with a flashlight to pick you up. The underfloor heating in the room was very warm, almost too warm 😂. There are different activities every afternoon. The room also provides scriptures and notebooks for guests to copy. There weren't many guests when we stayed, so the hotel thoughtfully provided a shuttle service to the airport 👍🏻. 🏡 The design is really unique. Entering the hotel feels like entering a paradise, in stark contrast to the hustle and bustle of the surrounding scenic area. We went to Lingyin Temple early in the morning and were able to make it back to the hotel in time for breakfast, which ends at 11 am 🍽. 👉🏻 Cons👇🏻 💡 To recreate the life of an ancient village, there is no TV in the room, and the lighting is a bit dim. There is no bedside table, so we had to use a chair instead 😂. 🐞 There are a lot of plants, so there are also a lot of mosquitoes and insects, even in winter. 🚽 The bathroom design is a bit inconvenient.
