#japantrip Another day in Amanohashidte. Is one of the best tourist destination in Japan renowned for its natural scenery which located in Kyoto Prefecture. You can either stay a night and absorb the warm local vibes or just one day visit should be fine. It's known as the sea of Kyoto, here first, I highly recommend you to take boat tour called Ine Bay Sightseeing Boat located in Ine, Yoza District which you can easly find it on Google Maps. To get to this tour centre, you need to take bus from train station for around an hour trip and enjoy the excitement with those seagulls once you inside the boat. One experience that you might not will have in anywhere else is feeding the seagulls during the boat trip. It's quite a thrill! Whether you are on yourself-guided or with another travel tour, Amanohashidate is worth visiting you will never regret.

This place is probably one of the the prettiest place when your around Kyoto. It’s quite a distance away from town. We took a 2 hours bus ride booking a tour via Klook. It was a very wet rainy day. Bus was filled full and the guide speaks few different language. This place is totally worth the long ride, we enjoyed so much of the views, the weather, the companion along the trip as well. Around the shore later, you’ll be greeted by a temple, than rows of restaurants and gift shops, after that take a small home and you can either pick a single cable car ride which has no waiting limit or a cable car that has operation time. This will bring you to the top of the mountain. The single seat is definitely worth it because of the view.

The sandbar itself is over 3km long, and is filled with pine trees. You can get a better view of the entire sandbar from View Land, which can be accessed via monorail or chairlift. I personally recommend the chairlift as it’s more exciting and allows for better photo/video-taking. From View Land, you will get a breath-taking view of the sandbar, which makes the ride up very worth its while. Viewed upside down between one’s legs, the sandbar is supposed to look like a dragon. 40 min away from Amanohashidate is the beautiful fishing village of Ine, which I will cover in another post. The day tour I signed up for covered visits to both attractions. #amanohashidate

Although the place is really remote, it takes about two hours to take the Shinkansen from Kyoto City to Amanohashidate Station, and then another hour to transfer to the bus to Ine. The neatly arranged boat houses on the water in Ine look very pretty. I understand why it is called the Venice of Japan. If you are hungry, there are several cafes and Japanese restaurants to choose from! I bought a boat ticket just to see the seagulls. I was really scared at first, thinking they would eat my hands. But then they were very accurate, and every time they just ate the shrimp crackers and left. 😂😂 Remember to enjoy the scenery while feeding the seagulls! Then we rented bicycles and returned to Amanohashidate. Just in time to take the cable car and enjoy the beautiful scenery on the observation deck. Although it takes five to six hours to go back and forth, it is still worth a visit! If you have time, two days and one night is also a good choice!

We joined a day tour to visit Ine no Funaya and Amanohashidate, which is highly recommended as the locations are quite far from Osaka. The tour made the journey much more convenient and stress-free. Tickets for the Amanohashidate cable car and boat rides are not included in our tour, so it’s a good idea to bring enough cash. At the jetty, don’t miss their famous olive ice cream—it’s a unique treat! The boat ride was a highlight, with seagulls following us closely, waiting for food. You can buy prawn crackers before boarding to feed them, which adds to the fun. Overall, a memorable experience, especially for nature and scenic view lovers!

As one of Japan's three scenic views, Amanohashidate is not just picturesque; it is like a 'natural bridge' quietly stretching between heaven and earth, captivating people with its unique charm. Easy Transportation: Half-Day Trip Guide from Kyoto to Amanohashidate Getting to Amanohashidate is very convenient. You can take the Hashidate Limited Express from Kyoto Station and arrive at Amanohashidate Station in 2.5 hours. Upon arrival, you are greeted by the tranquil atmosphere of a small town. A 20-minute walk from the station will take you to the pine-covered sandbar. Along the way, there are Japanese-style shops and scattered cafes, making it a warm-up exercise for the journey. Pine Forest and Sandbar: Walking the Bridge to Heaven The name 'Amanohashidate' is very romantic; it symbolizes a bridge connecting heaven and earth. Viewed from above, the sandbar looks like a long, thin ribbon gently crossing the bay. The narrowest part of the sandbar is only 20 meters wide, and it stretches for 3.6 kilometers, covered with tall pine trees. A large flock of seagulls circles around the boat, skillfully catching the thrown food. At that moment, you feel like you are part of the seagulls, sharing the blue sky and white clouds with them.
