Amasake Teahouse
My sister has been recommending this teahouse for a long time, so I went to this long-established teahouse along the old Hakone Kaido. It's a famous shop that has been featured on TV many times.
The current owner is the 13th generation!
The taste of the amazake has remained unchanged since the Edo period.
The teahouse, with its characteristic thatched roof, has an atmosphere that makes you feel like you've traveled back in time to the Edo period.
The inside of the shop has a hearth and a veranda, and the atmosphere is excellent. 🥺💕
There's also a cute goldfish neputa. 🐟🩷
Summer-only shaved ice. 🍧
✔︎Uji
✔︎Red shiso
The strawberry shaved ice was sold out on this day. 🙅🏻♀️
The portions are generous, and both are just the right amount of sweet. The red shiso in particular tastes like shiso juice as it melts,
bringing back memories of my childhood 🥹
And the Chikara Mochi is not small at all.
The mochi is pounded fresh every morning with a mallet and grilled over charcoal.
Anyway, it's very soft and delicious😭♡
(I ate it so quickly that I don't have any photos lol)
There were a lot of foreigners there, and it seemed like they loved Japanese things🥺
There's a bus stop for this teahouse, so you can get there by bus🚏🚌
(Isn't it amazing that it's named after a bus station? lol)
However, there aren't many buses, so I recommend going by car🥹🚗
