𝐓𝐫𝐢𝐩*⋆✈Kanagawa𓂃 𓈒𓏸Hakone Amasake Teahouse My sister has been recommending this teahouse for a long time, so I went to this long-established teahouse along the old Hakone Kaido. It's a famous shop that has been featured on TV many times. The current owner is the 13th generation! The taste of the amazake has remained unchanged since the Edo period. The teahouse, with its characteristic thatched roof, has an atmosphere that makes you feel like you've traveled back in time to the Edo period. The inside of the shop has a hearth and a veranda, and the atmosphere is excellent. 🥺💕 There's also a cute goldfish neputa. 🐟🩷 Summer-only shaved ice. 🍧 ✔︎Uji ✔︎Red shiso The strawberry shaved ice was sold out on this day. 🙅🏻♀️ The portions are generous, and both are just the right amount of sweet. The red shiso in particular tastes like shiso juice as it melts, bringing back memories of my childhood 🥹 And the Chikara Mochi is not small at all. The mochi is pounded fresh every morning with a mallet and grilled over charcoal. Have you heard of Amazake-chaya, a place in Hakone where you can experience the good old days of Japan? Amazake-chaya is a teahouse that has been in operation for generations since the Edo period, and has a history of 400 years! Hakone town developed as a key transportation hub during the Edo period, and it started out as a place to rest for many people, including travelers and feudal lords who had to travel on their alternate attendance tours. Inside the historic building with its traditional thatched roof and wooden beams, there is a hearth and tables that give off the warmth of wood, allowing you to feel the Japanese atmosphere and nature. In addition to the gently sweet homemade amazake that gives the shop its name, you can enjoy a variety of sweets, including the signature dish of Chikara-mochi, which is made from freshly made rice cakes baked over charcoal every morning, and shaved ice topped with homemade syrup in the summer.
