The Chalika Mosque is located on the Asian side of Istanbul. This mosque is recorded as the largest mosque in the history of Turkey. With 6 tall minarets, no matter where you look in Istanbul, you will be able to see the minarets clearly and beautifully. When visiting any mosque, you must dress modestly. Do not wear shoes inside. Do not make loud noises. Women must wear knee-length skirts and headscarves.

Built in the top of the hill the Camlica Mosque can be seen from all around Istanbul. At the start of our first day we hadn't planned what to do in Istanbul, so we looked out the window and saw the Camlica Mosque and Istanbul tower. Off we headed up what I can only describe as San Francisco style steep hills. We walked up from the kadikoy area, which took around two hours with a coffee stop off. Once at the Camlica Mosque we were blown away with it's size, scale and magnificent art. The domes were beautiful, the courtyard was stunning and the views of the city were panoramic. If you have half a day to spend wandering through the streets of Istanbul with a guaranteed show stopping tourist spot at the end. This is it. Went for 5 days, 4 nights exploring Istanbul, the City of Cats. And as the city is called, the city is indeed filled with cats. There's a bowl for food and water and small cat houses all along the streets. As for the hotel, the space was small, but it was worth the price. The room was cleaned every day with toiletries being refilled. There's a sign saying that if we still want to use the towel, just hang it to tell the cleaner that she doesn't need to replace it with a new one. BUT THEY STILL GIVE US A NEW ONE!!!! Respect cuyyy!!! Dayummmm! The receptionist was very helpful, polite and able to speak English. During the check-out, he even wished us a safe flight and "see you next year!"...bruhhh pengen nangis kita 🥲

Camlica Mosque, built in 2019, became the largest in Turkey. The grandiose architectural complex was built over the Bosphorus in the classic Ottoman style. The huge prayer hall, internal and external courtyards are designed for 63,000 believers. The cubic building with a dome is surrounded by six minarets, rising to a height of 90 to 107 m. All structures were designed taking into account the increased seismicity of the region. The main architects of the project were two women, which is extremely unusual for Muslim architecture.
