Rare Room Type Awards | Andaz Duplex Suite in Xintiandi, Shanghai
| Andaz Duplex Suite in Xintiandi, Shanghai. In the heart of the bustling metropolis of Shanghai, is there a luxury hotel with duplex suites for a staycation? There really is one in Xintiandi!
Fashion Landmark in Xintiandi
There are luxury hotels in Xintiandi, just across the street from each other, one is Langting, the other is Andaz, both opened around 2010-2011. The exteriors of the two buildings are very similar, but the interior styles are very different
The Andaz brand is a trendy design hotel brand from Hyatt, and the Andaz Xintiandi in Shanghai is the brand's first show in mainland China. When it opened, it was a hot spot for internet celebrities. Although it's been over 10 years, it's still trendy! The hotel entrance is a wooden hidden door, the check-in area is also open, the front desk staff asked me if I need coffee, and then checked me in right next to me.
Stunning and Rare Duplex Room Type
Because I was going to stay in a duplex room, I specifically checked the room area on the booking platform, which showed 88-103 square meters. I went to check it out a day in advance to see what the difference was
Different views. The rooms facing west overlook the Shikumen-style Xintiandi, while the rooms facing east can clearly see the Bund trio at night. Because the duplex has a high ceiling and is a panoramic floor-to-ceiling window, in addition to the dazzling night view, you can also see the Shanghai trio in the morning light and fog. The open view is really beautiful! Pay attention to the window glass, there are some inner words.
Different layouts. The first type of room, the staircase is parallel to the window, this type of room, the second floor space is slightly larger, and there is a desk, but the living room is a bit crowded because it is surrounded by stairs. The second type of duplex is the room I stayed in, where the staircase and window intersect, the second floor space is slightly smaller, and there is no desk, but the living room space is more open.
It is recommended to specifically ask the front desk about the style of the room when checking in.
The duplex suite, like other room types, also has a fully automated control system for LED lighting, room temperature, curtains, TV services, etc. The bathroom is also rock style, but the bathtub does not glow like other room types, which is a bit of a pity.
High Cost-Performance Buffet
Another thing to praise is the buffet at the all-day dining restaurant, which is really worth it and exquisite. The buffet dinner I tasted also offers a small hot pot, a platter of Wagyu beef and seafood, you can choose Buddha jumps over the wall, Argentine red shrimp, etc., and each person also gets a small green dragon. I also tried the breakfast the next day, there are not many varieties, but you can taste Shanghai classic breakfast, such as fresh meat dumplings, curry beef vermicelli!
Co-branded Gifts
Andaz often has some limited co-branded gifts for guests. This stay, they gave a Line Friends cookie box, which is really cute.
Finally, let's talk about the price, the duplex suite sometimes costs 3000-4000 yuan, the pre-sale package includes breakfast and buffet dinner, sometimes the price is just over 2000, you can stock up first, after all, the duplex suite in a luxury hotel in Shanghai is also a rare experience.
