Otaru Music Box Museum Building 2, Music box
Otaru Music Box Hall is Japan's largest music box specialty store. With its back to the canal and along Sakaisuji Street extending to the Otaru Canal, there are 3 different museums. Otaru Music Box Hall Building 2 houses a collection of ancient music boxes.
From Sapporo, take the JR Hakodate Main Line bound for Otaru Line and get off at Minami-Otaru Station. Otaru Music Box Hall is a 7-minute walk from Minami-Otaru Station. In addition, you can see the Otaru sea up close by taking JR! A leisurely train ride while admiring the ocean is also one of my memories.
Now that you’re in Otaru, let’s visit a museum themed around antique music boxes. Building No. 2 is very close to the main building, only a 1-minute walk away. The music boxes collected in the museum are all a bit old, including the music box that Princess Diana sought after. You can see these precious music boxes with a strong historical imprint, and you can also feel the long story behind each music box.
In the museum, you can hear the sounds of antique music boxes such as the "Aeolian Harp Organ", player piano, cylinder music box, and automatic music box, and you can sit back and experience the sounds of the Castle in the Sky. In addition, there are 6 "Antique Music Box Concerts" every day, each lasting about 15 minutes, and staff will provide explanations during the performance time. The music box played is different every time.
There is an Easy Order with a music box in "Museum No. 2". Whether you are looking for your favorite songs or listening to the sounds of your favorite songs, it is quite fun~~
