2024 Macau Food Festival, a food festival
The annual Macau Food Festival is here again. We are afraid that there will be too many people on Saturday and Sunday, so we decided to enter on the first day to enjoy the food. This year, stalls are divided into different areas according to food categories. Although this is convenient for visitors, it creates greater competition for shops, which must have good products to attract customers. The venue only accepts electronic payments. This year, in addition to Macau Pass, M pay, and the mainland version of Alipay, Visa/Master card Paywave is also accepted, which is much more convenient.
Macau locals may feel that the food festival is not cost-effective and is more expensive than outside the venue, but tourists would like to concentrate in one place to enjoy the most delicious food. Moreover, shops in the food festival will sell lightweight versions, so guests can have the opportunity to try a few more and then go to the shop’s restaurant if they like the food. In fact, everyone gets something.
Upon entering, go to the Chinese food area near the entrance to eat crab congee at Cheng Chang Restaurant, and then go to Xin Yi Food Store to eat roast chicken. The crab porridge has a nice crab flavor. There are a few pieces of crab in the porridge. You can eat the crab meat after finishing the porridge, but you have to tear the crab apart. The porridge has a crab flavor, stronger than I've had it elsewhere before. The crab meat that has been removed also has a crab flavor and should be added to the porridge after it is cooked. The roast chicken is the same as in previous years, with flavorful skin and tender chicken meat. You can tear the chicken directly with your hands by wearing the gloves provided by the store, but it is much more expensive than last year.
At the Taipa branch, the double flavor of Lemon Che Lu costs $45, but it’s only $35 at the venue. Of course, I had to order a cone of the double flavor, peach mango with lemon Che Lu, which is sour and sweet and appetizing.
I participated in Tian Hao Hui last year. The set menu this year is almost the same. Each set menu has the signature variety, the Royal Mini, which has a very good oyster flavor. Most people ordered the $238 set meal, which included a glass of lime soda. If you want to pair it with wine, you can order a glass or a bottle. A glass costs about 40 to 50 yuan, and a bottle costs about 400 to over 1,000 yuan. I ordered a set meal for 238, which included three Royal Mini and three French No.1. The Royal Mini Oysters have plenty of flavor, while the French No.1 is relatively light, but has a sweet taste. Fortunately, I ate No.1 first, so I could taste the difference. The store should remind customers.
Many people ordered the crab roe rice and noodles. The crab roe noodles I ordered did not taste strong crab flavor at the beginning. Later on, I found that the crab roe was not evenly scooped. However, because there was a lot of crab roe left at the bottom of the bowl, each subsequent mouthful of noodles was served with a lot of crab roe, which all exploded in the mouth and was delicious. If you feel sick after eating too much, you can go to Hualian to buy cold brewed tea or freshly brewed tea.
Afterwards we had eel rice which had a great charcoal grilled flavor. Before leaving the venue, I bought a red bean cake and a half-lemon duck shit-flavored hand-made lemon tea, and returned to the hotel satisfied. In fact, there were many stalls that I didn’t have time to patronize because I was too full to continue. But the meeting will last until December 1st, and I will go again.
